  • ILHS hoops teams sweep Cheraw

    The Indian Land High School Warriors rebounded in a big way to sweep a Region IV-AA basketball win over Cheraw on Saturday night.
    The reset twin bill, postponed with the winter storm last month, came less than 24 hours after the Warriors dropped a pair of league losses to Lee Central High of Bishopville.
    The Warriors were on top of their game Saturday when the IL girls, in a solid showing, posted a 56-48 win over the CHS girls to launch the broom job in the ILHS gym.

  • Warriors drop hoops pair to Lee Central

    Indian Land dropped both ends of a Region IV-AA doubleheader at Lee Central High School in Bishopville on Friday night.
    The No. 7 Lee Central boys rallied in the final period to take a 57-53 comeback win over the Warriors, who dropped their first region loss this season.
    In the opener, the Lee Central girls rolled to a 51-24 win over the Lady Warriors.
    The nightcap was a nail-biter, with the host Stallions rallying for the four-point win.
    IL, up 28-24 at the half, led 40-38 after three, but the Stallions used a 19-13 run to notch the four-point win.

  • ILHS sweeps AJ Vols

    Indian Land High School took two from Andrew Jackson High School in Conference IV-AA play Feb. 1.
    The Warriors notched a 78-59 win in the boys game after the Lady Warriors won, 52-37.
    In the opener, IL used a fast start to fuel its win. The Lady Warriors opened a 16-5 lead after one period and kept a double-digit edge on the way to the win.
    “This was a good, solid win,” IL girls coach Tamara Jacobus said. “We played with more intensity tonight.”

  • ILHS wrestlers falter in playoffs

    Indian Land High School saw its postseason wrestling hopes end with first-round losses in the Class AA Upper State playoffs on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
    IL built a 30-6 edge, but Emerald High School of Greenwood rallied with a 36-6 run to notch the 42-36 comeback win.
    The Warriors were paced by Michael Bryant, Marc Morris, Taylor Pendleton and Rondreas Truesdale who each posted a pin. Devin Curtsinger and Jonathan Rowe each posted a decision.

  • ILHS hosts region wrestling meet

    Indian Land High School’s wrestling team captured three individual weight division titles at the Conference IV-AA region meet held Saturday at ILHS.
    The champion Warrior trio included George Morris (140), Rondreas Truesdale (160) and Marc Morris (heavyweight).
    IL’s Devin Curtsinger, Jared Smith, Jonathon Rowe, Brad Newell and Logan Creed each placed second.

  • Warriors sweep Jackets on hardwoods

    Indian Land High School used a hardwood charge to complete a Region IV-AA doubleheader sweep of host Buford High School on Jan. 25.
    The Lady Warriors opened the twin bill, posting a 68-30 victory over the Buford girls.
    The Yellow Jackets, bidding for the upset in the nightcap, held a 35-33 lead late in the third period, but IL’s Darnell Rodgers, who scored seven points, nailed a trey to put the Warriors on top, 36-35 going to the final quarter.
    His trey keyed a 9-0 run to open the final quarter and the Warriors stayed in control to post the 54-43 win.

  • ILHS swaps hoops wins with AJ Vols

    KERSHAW – In a make-up game Jan. 22, Andrew Jackson and Indian Land each came out looking good.
    In the Region IV-AA twin bill, the Volunteers and Warriors each posted a win in the AJ gym.
    The Lady Vols opened the doubleheader with a 35-28 win and the Warriors, keeping their region mark unblemished, notched a 51-34 win.
    The Warriors, in the boys’ game, used a 26-7 second-period run to take the lead for good.

  • ILHS teams split hoops games with Lee Central

    The Warriors stayed unbeaten in early season Region IV-AA play, posting an 82-66 home win over fifth-rated Lee Central on Friday, Jan. 21.
    The Warriors’ 16-point home win improved IL to 7-6, 2-0 in league play.
    The Lady Warriors dropped their first league loss in a 52-48 setback in the varsity opener.
    The boys’ game featured a strong finish for the Warriors, who used a 29-16 final quarter to notch the victory.

  • Warriors reach hoops milestones

    Indian Land High School’s return to the hardwood for its Region IV-AA basketball opener Jan. 18 was a night of high points in an impressive league sweep of Central High of Pageland.
    IL Lady Warriors’ senior Mariah Williams reached a personal hoops milestone in the 66-33 opening win over the Lady Eagles.
    The nightcap was also a Warriors’ milestone as IL junior Terrell Rodgers scored 56 points in a whopping 133-77 win over the CHS boys. Rodgers’ 56-point effort and IL’s 133 team points set new Warriors’ records.

  • Warriors blitz Lions in wrestling victory

    Indian Land High School had matters pretty much in hand as the Warriors notched a 57-12 wrestling win over Lewisville in Richburg on Jan. 19.
    IL pin winners included Taylor Pendleton, Jonathon Rowe, Brad Newell, Eric Komorous, Rondreas Truesdale, Will Cox, Michael Bryant and Marc Morris. Brodie Freeman posted a decision at 140.
    The Cuthbertson High Cavaliers of Waxhaw defeated Indian Land, 45-24, in a dual match in the Indian Land Elementary School gym on Friday, Jan. 21.
    The Warriors were led by Rondreas Truesdale and Marc Morris who each posted a pin.
