  • ILHS splits with Nation Ford, Fort Mill

    Indian Land High School  prevailed in the nightcap Friday, Dec. 10, to gain a hardwood split with Nation Ford High School in the Warriors’ gym.
    The Warriors took a 55-52 win after the Lady Falcons edged the Lady Warriors, 57-51.
    The boys’ game saw IL take an early lead and stay in control for the three-point win.
    The Warriors, up 30-20 at the break, owned a 47-38 advantage with a period to play before the Falcons rallied, but IL held the upper hand to take the win.

  • ILHS wrestlers notch first win

    Indian Land High School captured one win in a four-way wrestling match at YorkComprehensive High School on Dec. 7.
    The Warriors downed Union 36-33, but fell to Chester, 47-30, and York, 56-18.
    IL eighth in Warrior Invitational
    Class AAA Chester High School captured five weight classes to notch the title in the annual Warrior Invitational tournament at ILHS Dec. 4.
    The Cyclones’ K.J. Dixon, Chester’s ace 171-pounder, earned the Most Outstanding Wrestler for his effort in the tournament. He highlighted his mat effort with three pins.

  • ILHS hoops teams sweep Chesterfield

    Indian Land High School evened its basketball records at 1-1 each with a 51-43 boys win and a 45-27 girls win over Class A foe Chesterfield on Friday, Dec. 3.
    The Warriors, coming off a road loss to Nation Ford, built an early lead and stayed in control for the eight-point victory.
    IL led 30-26 at the break and used a 12-8 surge to gain a 42-34 spread before taking the win.

  • Warriors grappling with double defeats

    Indian Land High School fell to 0-2 on the prep wrestling season, dropping a 65-7 loss to Fort Mill High School on Thursday, Dec. 2.
    The Jackets bolted to an 18-0 lead on the way to the 58-point win.
    The IL winners were Jonathan Rowe at 130 on a major decision and Marc Morris on a decision at 285.
    The Jackets posted seven pins in the victory.

  • Warriors jump into new hoops class

    The Indian Land High School Warriors’ basketball teams earned postseason bids last season and the IL coaches are hopeful, as the teams continue to work hard, that they can build on that success.
    Warriors’ coach Nate Smith returns a solid cast of players, while the Lady Warriors has its share of returnees this season.
    Smith said he feels the Warriors, 11-7 and the region runner-up in their final campaign in Class A hoops last season, can build off team chemistry.

  • Warriors 7th in Jackets Invitational

    Fort Mill High School beat Lancaster High School to capture the championship in the third annual Jackets Invitational Preseason basketball tournament Nov. 23.
    Fort Mill captured a thrilling 64-63 comeback win over the Bruins to notch the title.
    In the third-place game, Lakewood High edged host Buford High School, 67-62 in overtime.
    Lewisville High School captured fifth place with a win over North Central High.
    Indian Land High School, which went 1-2 in the tournament, edged Andrew Jackson High School, 51-46, in the seventh-place game Nov. 23.

  • Warriors football aces reap region honors

    The Indian Land Warriors’ 9-2 season drew heavy notice from Conference IV-AA coaches during selections for the all-region football team.
    Indian Land drew 11 spots on the 44-member team, including three players at two different positions.
    The players were selected by the coaches from other region teams.
    Six players were honored on the All-Region IV-AA offense, two out of the Warriors’ productive backfield.
