  • ‘What happened in the garden’

Ever wondered what the people around Jesus felt about his death and resurrection?

On April 5, the youth of Belair United Methodist Church explored that question in a short Easter play called “What Happened in the Garden (Didn’t Stay in the Garden).” The 17-minute play was a conversation between characters involved in the crucifixion story.

  • Holy Week a journey through pain to new life

As April begins and new life is all around us, we head into the holiest time for Christians.

This week, we travel the journey of Holy Week. We dine with Jesus as he breaks the bread and passes the cup of wine, telling us that they are the sign of his body and blood to be sacrificed for us. We sit as Jesus kneels before us, washing our feet as if he were a servant. We wait with him in the garden as he faces temptation; we watch as he is tortured and abused before Pilate, and finally we stand at the foot of the cross and watch him die.
