Warriors kick off practice Friday

Indian Land High School kicks off the Warriors 2017 preseason football practice Friday, July 28, when head coach Horatio Blades will greet his team.
“We will be practicing at 6 p.m. to try to get away from the heat and get fully adjusted to the time of day we will be playing,” Blades said. “We’re pleased with our summer workouts and how our guys have responded.”
The Warriors return 17 starters, including all-region players John Gregory, a senior wide receiver-defensive back, junior linebacker Robby Csuhta and senior offensive lineman Jake Locklear.
Indian Land, looking to rebound from a 2-9 showing last season, opens its scrimmage schedule at Class AA Cheraw at 6 p.m. Aug. 4.
The Warriors host Independence High School of Charlotte at 6 p.m. Aug. 9.
The Warriors play Parkwood of Union County, N.C., at 8 p.m. Aug. 12 in the Founders Kickoff Classic at Buford High School.
Indian Land opens its 2017 season Aug. 18, when the Warriors face county rival Lancaster High School.
