Indian Land High School junior volleyball player Baylee Vought has verbally committed to play volleyball for the University of Akron (Zips).
Akron, an NCAA Division I school, competes in the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
Vought is a premier setter and versatile hitter for the Indian Land Warriors.
In 2018, as a sophomore, Vought was selected Class AAA all-state, Region IV-AAA Player of the Year and All-Area, as well as the Warriors Offensive MVP.
Vought said she loves and is committed to the sport of volleyball.
She has had high-level training since a very young age.
“Baylee is a young leader, a great teammate, and her enthusiasm is infectious,” said IL volleyball coach Michael Van Lieu.
Vought has been selected as a Warriors team captain for the 2019 season. Vought is also a setter on the Carolina Union Volleyball Club’s Premier 16s team.
