Buford High School sophomore swimmer Makenzy Mills, saving her best time for the season’s biggest moment, etched her name in Bruins swim team history Friday, Oct. 5.
Mills, an ace backstroker and a four-year member of the LHS swim team, became the first Buford High School member of the Bruins swim team to win an individual state title at the Class AAAA swim meet at the University of South Carolina Natatorium.
Mills captured two medals, including the girls 100-yard backstroke gold medal with a personal-best 57.60 to top her nearest competitor by three seconds.
