Greenway offers outdoors programs
Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill will host the following outdoors programs:
• Couch to 5K – 8:30 p.m. June 9-Aug. 11 at the Rush Pavilion, 2573 Lake Haigler Drive. The 10-week program is for those who are just starting out running or are looking to get back into it after some time off.
• Introduction to Fishing –2:25 p.m. June 15 at the Lake Haigler entrance, 2573 Lake Haigler Drive. Rods will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Cost is $5 per class, plus a $5 for entry fee for non-members. Pre-registration is required.
• Mountain Bike Level 1 Clinic  – 8:30 a.m. June 16 at 104 Adventure Road
• Archery 101 for Kids – 2 p.m. June 17 at 104 Adventure Road. Geared to first-time archers ages 8-11, this program will cover all the basics of archery. Participants must pre-register and parents must stay on site throughout the program. Cost is $20. Non-members pay the $5 entry fee.
• Sunset Kayak – 7:15 p.m. June 20 at the Rush Pavilion, 2573 Lake Haigler Drive. Kayaks and personal flotation devices will be provided. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. Cost is by kayak – $15 for a single kayak and $20 for a tandem kayak, which includes kayak equipment and guide. For nonmembers, a Greenway entry fee of $5 applies. Registration is limited to four single kayaks and two tandem kayaks.

Family Fishing Clinic June 16 in Sun City
A free Family Fishing Clinic is 1-4 p.m. June 16 at Grandparents’ Park at the intersection of Del Webb Boulevard and Kingfisher Drive in Sun City Carolina Lakes.
Instructors are SCCL Sport Fishing Club volunteers, trained by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources. The clinic will introduce the basics of fishing. Bait, rods and reels, and tackle will be provided.

Benefit softball  tourney June 16
A benefit softball tournament for cancer victim Chris Jenkins will be June 16 at Camp Clyburn, 3662 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster. The field for the double-elimination tournament is limited to the first eight teams. Prizes are $500 for first place, a new Miken bat for second and $100 for third. The entry fee is $300, with a format of three home runs, then out. The entry deadline is noon June 14. Concessions will be available. For details, call Fuzzy Bass at (803) 288-0195.
County pools offer swim lessons
• The Gregory Family YMCA, 512 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, will hold three more sessions of summer youth swim lessons.
Session two is June 18-28, session three is July 9-19 and session four is July 23-Aug. 2. Classes are Monday-Thursday at one of these times: 10-10:30 a.m., 10:30-11 a.m., 5:30-6 p.m., 6-6:30 p.m. and 6:30-7 p.m.

• The Lancaster County Pool, at the corner of Wylie and York streets in Lancaster, offers swim lessons for ages 3-18 on June 18-28 and July 9-19. Classes are Monday-Thursday. June classes are 10-10:45 a.m. and 11- 11:45 a.m. July classes are 10-10:45 a.m., 11- 11:45 a.m., and 6-6:45 p.m.
Adult swim lessons are 7-7:45 p.m. July 9-19.
Register at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at Springdale Recreation Center, 260 S. Plantation Road, Lancaster, or at the pool or www.mylancastersc.org/parks. Fee is $50. For details, call (803) 285-5545.
ILHS youth baseball camp June 25-29
The annual Indian Land High School Warriors youth (ages 6-12) baseball camp is 9 a.m.-noon June 25-29 at the ILHS baseball field, 8063 River Road, Indian Land. The fee is $60. For details, call coach Joey Robinson at (803) 547-7571.
Lady Bruins hoops camp June 25-27
The Lancaster Lady Bruins Fundamental Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 6-14 is 5-7 p.m. June 25-27 in the Lancaster High School gym, 617 Normandy Road, Lancaster.
