ILHS hosts wrestling camp June 13-15
Indian Land High School, 8063 River Road, will host a wrestling camp from 9 a.m. to noon June 13-15.
Bandits barbecue fundraiser June 14
The Bandits NC 14U fast pitch softball team will hold a barbecue fundraiser June 14 at First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Gay St., Lancaster. Pick up time is 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Cost is $10 a plate, with delivery available for orders of five or more plates. Plates include barbecue, roll, slaw, beans and pound cake.
The Bandits NC is a showcase travel softball team that travels across the Southeast to compete at the highest level. The team includes girls from Lancaster, Indian Land, Andrew Jackson, Chesterfield, Pageland, Waxhaw, Blythewood and Cheraw.
The team helps girls prepare for softball at the next level. Money raised by the team is used for travel, equipment, tournament fees and team camps.

Bandits to host softball clinic at LHS
The Bandits NC 14U Ghent showcase softball team will host a softball skills clinic featuring Christian Stokes on June 15 at the Lancaster High School softball field, adjacent to North Elementary School and Memorial Stadium on Stadium Street in Lancaster.
Stokes, who played college softball at the University of Kentucky, is a former pro softball player with the Scrap Yard Dawgs.
The clinic for rising kindergartners and up will focus on the fundamentals of softball. There will be high school softball/baseball coaches at each station.
Registration is 8:30 to 9 a.m. the day of the clinic.
Pitching and catching will be featured from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Hitting, fielding, and base running will be featured from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The fee for the pitching and catching morning session is $20, and $30 for the hitting, fielding and base running session.

Gregory Family YMCA offers swim lessons
The University of South Carolina Lancaster’s Gregory Family YMCA, 512 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, has set its summer swim lesson schedule.
Session 2 is June 17-27 and includes Aqua Tot and Levels 1-4. Session 3 is July 8-18 and includes Aqua Infant, Wee Toddler, Aqua Tot and Levels 1-4. Session 4 is July 22-Aug. 1 and includes Aqua Tot and Levels 1-4.
No classes will be held July 1-5.
Lessons are Monday-Thursday. Morning classes for Aqua Tot and Levels 1-4 are 10-10:30 and 10:30-11. Evening classes for Aqua Infant, Wee Toddler, Aqua Tot and Levels 1-4 are 5:30-6, 6-6:30 and 6:30-7.

Panthers players to hold football camp
Carolina Panthers wide receiver D.J. Moore and All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly will hold a youth football camp 2-5 p.m. July 8-9 at Ardrey Kell High School, 10220 Ardrey Kell Road, Charlotte.
At the D.J. Moore Football ProCamp with Luke Kuechly in partnership with Publix, campers will learn fundamental football skills and have the opportunity to meet and interact with the star athletes. Each participant will receive limited-edition camp T-shirt, a souvenir D.J. Moore autograph and a team photo with Moore.
Moore and Kuechly will be on-site to direct the event with prep and college coaches from the area.
The camp is open to boys and girls of all skill levels in grades one though eight.

LCPR fall sports registration opens July 1
Registration for Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission’s fall sports programs opens July 1. This fall, LCPRC will offer:
• Cheerleading for girls ages 7-12– $30
• Soccer for ages 5-15 – $75
• Youth volleyball for girls ages 7-12 – $70
• Introduction to soccer for age 4 – $60
• Tackle football for boys and girls ages 9/10 and 11/12 – $95, plus $30 helmet rental
• Flag football for boys and girls ages 5/6 and 7/8 – $70

The age cut-off date is Sept. 1.

Camp GOTR at Lancaster YMCA
Camp GOTR (Girls on the Run) is 8:30 a.m-noon July 8-12 at the Gregory Family YMCA, 512 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster.
The theme is “Girls Have Heart.” Throughout the week girls in grades three through five will explore friendships with activities designed to discover what makes a good friend and how to be a good friend to others.
The $140 fee includes five lessons conducted by certified GOTR coaches (20 hours of instruction), a camp T-shirt, cinch backpack, camp conclusion certificate and goodie bag. Financial aid is available based on household income range.
The program is designed to address physical, emotional and social development through fun and engaging lessons. Through games, physical activity, interactive workshops and individual reflection, girls will learn valuable skills to help them build meaningful and positive connections with others.

Free family fishing clinic July 20
A free family fishing clinic will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. July 20 at Grandchildren’s Park in Sun City Carolina Lakes.
Instructors are resident volunteers who are members of the Sport Fishing Club. Bait, rods and reels, and tackle will be provided. The clinic is designed to introduce the basics of fishing to both young and old. Participants will learn how to tie fishing knots, rig rods, cast, fish and more. Space is limited.
