Gregory YMCA offers swim lessons
The Gregory Family Center YMCA at the University of South Carolina at Lancaster has set its third session of swimming lessons.
Session three is April 1-24 Monday/Wednesday, and April 2-25 Tuesday/Thursday.Class times are 6-6:30 p.m. or 6:30-7 p.m.
Classes are taught by Aquatics Director Anne H. Small and members of her staff.

Discoveries Soccer girls tryouts April 7
Discoveries Soccer Club will hold girls tryouts for the 2019-20 season April 7 at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill. Times are 4-5:30 p.m. for those born in 2004; 5:30-7 p.m. for those born in 2003; and 7-8:30 p.m. for those born in 2001-02.
The tryouts, originally scheduled for March 3, were reset due to inclement weather.

Prep football officials sought
The District Three S.C. Football Officials Association is looking for interested people to call high school football games. Candidates are encouraged to contact an S.C. Football Officials Association District 3 officer by April 15 to schedule an interview to determine if you are eligible to join the association. Classes start at the end of April. Free family fishing clinic April 20
A free family fishing clinic will be held at Grandchildren’s Park in Sun City Carolina Lakes from 1-4 p.m. April 20. Instructors are resident volunteers who are members of the Sport Fishing Club. Bait, rods and reels, and tackle will be provided. The clinic is designed to introduce the basics of fishing to both young and old. Muschamp speaks at USC spring meeting
USC Gamecocks head football coach Will Muschamp will be the featured speaker for the annual Lancaster County Gamecock Club spring meeting April 29 at the Catawba Fish Camp in Fort Lawn. Dinner is at 6 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. A raffle, with each ticket at $5, will be held for two Gamecocks season tickets.

IL Rotary Club golf tourney May 9
The 2019 Indian Land Rotary Club golf tournament is May 9 at Carolina Lakes Golf Club, 23012 Kingfisher Drive in Sun City Carolina Lakes. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
The first-place team will win $200 and a trophy; second place will win $100; third place wins a $25 gift card and the last place team gets a prize, too. There will be closest-to-the-pin, longest-drive and putting contests, as well as a chance to win a new vehicle.
Mulligan packages are available and there will be a 50/50 raffle during the event.
Tickets are $440 per team of four golfers or $125 per person. The ticket price includes lunch, dinner and a free round of golf at Carolina Lakes Golf Club at a later date.
Lunch is provided by Jersey Mike’s; dinner provided by 521 BBQ, with a complimentary beer cart during the tournament.
The tournament raises funds for local Rotary projects, including collegiate scholarships for Indian Land High School seniors and dictionaries for all third-graders in Panhandle elementary schools.
The club is also seeking sponsors for the tournament, ranging from $125 tee box signs to the $3,000 titanium level.
