ILHS winter sports meetings Nov. 14
The 2018-19 winter sports Meet the Warriors Night is 6:15 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Indian Land High School gym. A parent or guardian and all student athletes on the wrestling and girls and boys basketball teams should attend.
A general meeting will be held at the beginning and then each team will meet immediately afterward.
The event should not last more than 50 minutes.
There will be an opportunity to join the Indian Land Athletic Booster Club before and after the meeting. See the ILWarriors.com website for details on joining the Indian Land Athletic Booster Club.


Charity softball game Saturday at Sun City
A charity softball game between the Sun City Carolina Lakes travel team and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will be played at the Water’s Edge Ball Park in Sun City Carolina Lakes at 11 a.m. Nov. 17.
Sun City residents will sell hamburgers and hot dogs, with proceeds going to the Special Olympics, a charity chosen by the LCSO.
Fans are invited to bring their families, lawn chairs and appetites for the game.
The SCCL Softball Club wanted to do something charitable on behalf of the sheriff’s office to show their appreciation for the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and its employees.

Recreation advisory board meets Nov. 20
The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Department advisory board meets at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Springdale Recreation Center, 260 S. Plantation Road, Lancaster. The meeting was moved from Nov. 12. For details, call (803) 285-5545.

YMCA offers January snowmobile trips
The YMCA has scheduled two family snowmobile trips to Yellowstone Park from Jan. 19-23 and Jan 23-27. A deposit of $250 and completed registration form are required to reserve your spot. Final payment is due Dec. 1. For details or to register, call (803) 324-9622, ext. 221.

Dixie Baseball turkey shoots on Saturdays
Lancaster Dixie Baseball is holding its annual fall turkey shoot each Saturday through the end of the year at Gooches Volunteer Fire Department, 1594 Grace Ave., Lancaster. The shoot begins at 5:30 p.m. each Saturday. Cost is $3 per round with 10 targets per round. For details, call Dale Laney at (704) 695-5730.
