Register now for youth spring sports
Registration for the following Lancaster County Parks and Recreation spring sports is now open.
• Spring soccer for girls and boys ages 5-13, as of Sept. 1, 2019, costs $65.
• Soccer for boys and girls age 4, as of Sept. 1, 2019, costs $50.
• Softball for girls ages 7-12, as of Aug. 31, 2019, costs $75. If child will be 7 before Aug. 31, 2019, sign up for the 7/8 Darlings.
• Youth baseball for boys ages 7-12, as of May 1, 2019, costs $75.

Seidel named All Tournament Player
The Indian Land junior varsity volleyball team was the runner-up in the Boiling Springs Invitational Volleyball Tournament on Oct. 13, competing with high school teams from across the state at Boiling Springs High School.
Indian Land won eight sets in pool play to reach the gold bracket to play No. 1 seeded Chesnee High School. Indian Land won 25-12 in the one-set bracket match, led by sophomore setter Allison Seidel.
Seidel finished the tournament with 39 aces, 52 assists and 21 kills. She was chosen as the Volleyball All Tournament Player, by Boiling Springs varsity volleyball coach Allyson Elliott.
Indian Land ended the day taking home the runner-up trophy after losing the final championship game in a close match against Clover High School in two straight sets.
The IL team tied for third at the Bearcat Invitational JV Tournament in Rock Hill.
The Indian Land JV team finished the season at 10-2 overall.
Register now for Dixie Baseball
Lancaster Dixie Baseball registration ends Jan. 25-26. Registration is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays at United Fork Lift office, 2175 McIlwain Road, Lancaster.
Lancaster Dixie Baseball offers teams for ages 4-14.
Cost is $60 for ages 4-6. $100 for ages 7-12 and $110 for ages 13-14.

Gregory Family YMCA swim lessons
The Gregory Family YMCA at the University of South Carolina at Lancaster has set its first session of swimming lessons. Session one is Jan. 28-Feb. 20 Monday/Wednesday, or Jan. 29-Feb. 21 Tuesday/Thursday. Class times are 6-6:30 p.m. or 6:30-7 p.m. Classes will be taught by Aquatics Director Anne H. Registration set for 2019 CPTC season
The Columbus Parker Track Club will hold registration for the 2019 AAU Track and Field season 6-7 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Lancaster Fatherhood Project, 105 S. Wylie St., Lancaster.
CPTC ages 5-18 are accepted with a copy of birth certificate.The registration fee is $65. Payment plan or hardship waivers available.
Practice starts Feb. 4.

Registration for the following Lancaster County Parks and Recreation youth ball sports opens Feb. 25.
• T-ball for boys ages 4-5, as of May 1, 2019, costs $50. This group hits strictly off the tee.
• Swing league for boys ages 5-6, as of May 1, 2019, costs $50. This is coach pitch for the first three balls, then two off the tee if the batter fails to hit pitched balls.
• New Sweetee softball for girls ages 4-6, as of Aug. 31, 2019, costs $50. This league combines the girls T-ball and swing leagues. They will play with a 10-inch softcore softball. The girls will be allowed to hit off a tee and/or a coach pitch.
