South Pointe edges Junior Warriors, 12-9

The South Pointe Junior Stallions edged the Indian Land Warriors, 12-9, in junior varsity football play at SPHS on Thursday, Sept. 20.
The game was tied 6-6 at the half.
Indian Land’s Kevin Pollard recovered a fumbled punt snap in the end zone for a Junior Warriors’ touchdown.
Indian Land’s Jeremiah Strickland kicked a 28-yard field goal.
“I was proud of our kids and the way they played,” Indian Land High School junior varsity football coach Bakari Burton said. “We battled all the way, but just didn’t make the key plays at the end.
“It was a tough loss, but we will look to come back out and bounce back next week,” Burton said.
The loss brought the Junior Warriors to 1-3 on the season.
