Caregivers group meets May 15
Hospice Care of S.C. will hold a caregiver support group 10-11 a.m. May 15 (third Wednesday of each month) in the Belair United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land. For details, call Cory Turner at (803) 577-4912.
Alzheimer’s group meets May 16
The Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Support Group of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets at 7 p.m. May 16 (third Thursday each month) in the church library. It offers support to those caring for loved ones with dementia.
Mad Matters meet May 16
The Mad Matters ministry of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets 1-3 p.m. May 16 (first and third Thursday of each month) in the fellowship hall to make waterproof mats for the homeless.
St. John’s UMC posts events
St. John’s United Methodist Church, 160 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, announces the following events:

• Graduation Sunday is June 2. The deadline for high school and college graduation bulletin entries is May 17. Send a brief write-up about the graduate and their plans for the future and a JPEG photo to the office.
• The REAL Kids Friends and Fun outing to Carowinds is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 18. Parents may come as well. Sign up in the communication center. Cost is $45.
• St. John’s thanks all who made cookies and prayed during the recent KAIROS Prison Ministry at the Kershaw Correctional Institution. St. John’s members provided 155 dozen of the 1,517 dozen cookies that were provided for inmates, corrections officers and staff. The cookies are part of the draw for the men to attend this program and as one inmate called them, “A little hug from home.”
There will be an informational breakfast on the KAIROS Prison Ministry on May 18 at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Road, Charlotte.

The next KAIROS weekend is Sept. 25-29.
• The church will have a Cupcake Wars event May 19 for children and youth.

• Vacation Bible School is June 17-21. All are welcome to be part of an out-of-this-world mission at the “To Mars and Beyond” Vacation Bible School.

• Salkahatchie sign-ups are open. St. John’s volunteers will work in Fairfield County July 13-21. Salkahatchie is a UMC mission that began 41 years ago with a group of young and old volunteers who work tirelessly to make homes drier, safer and warmer for those without the means to do it themselves. • The VIPs (seniors) are planning a four-day, three-night trip to Lancaster, Pa., on Oct 2-3. Highlights include seeing “Jesus” at the Sight & Sound Theatre, a tour of Amish country and the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C. All church members, family and friends are invited. Belair UMC pantry open May 16
Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, opens its food pantry for Indian Land residents 9 a.m.-noon May 16 (first and third Thursday of each month). Food or cash donations may be dropped off at the church office 9 a.m.-noon weekdays.

2019 Youth Rally May 17-18 in Pageland
Five Lancaster County churches will attend the 2019 Youth Rally May 17-18 at Union Hill Baptist Church, 1209 State Road S-13-549, Pageland. Services are 7 p.m. and Tyler Blue will speak. Saturday is youth night and all youth are invited to come from 5-7 p.m. for free food and fun.

Belair UMC barbecue sale May 18
Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land, will hold a barbecue plate sale 11 a.m.-2 p.m. May 18 in the family life center. The $7 plates include barbecue, slaw, beans, roll and chips. Proceeds benefit the Aug. 10 Back-to-School Bash in Lancaster. To-go plates available. Faith hosts spring concert May 19
Faith Presbyterian Church, 7520 Charlotte Highway, Indian Land, will hold its annual Spring Concert at 3 p.m. May 19. The free concert will feature works by Handel, Böhme, Herzogenberg and more. Refreshments will be served. A love offering will be taken to benefit the church and its handbell fund. All are welcome.
Faith Presbyterian holds Super Sunday
Faith Presbyterian Church, 7520 Charlotte Highway, Indian Land, invites elementary-age kids to Super Sunday 1:30-3 p.m. May 19 (third Sunday of each month) at the church office. This club for kindergarten through fifth-graders explores Scripture through music, art, recreation and Bible study.
• Youth in grades six through 12 meet 5-7 p.m. May 26 (second and fourth Sundays of the month) for activities, study and service projects.
• The women’s Bible study meets at 11 a.m. June 10 (second Monday of each month) at the church. It is studying the Psalms this year.

OLOG hosts fellowships
Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 7095 Waxhaw Highway, Lancaster, holds a weekly fellowship at 12:30 p.m. after the noon Mass on Thursdays.
The church also hosts a monthly hospitality with doughnuts after the Sunday 11 a.m. Mass on May 26. Coffee and doughnuts are served at noon. All are welcome.
Byzantines meet Saturdays
The Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church’s Divine Liturgy is 4 p.m. Saturdays in the parish center at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 E. Munn Road, Fort Mill.

PHUMC student ministry meets Sundays
The PHYouth student ministry (sixth-12th grades) meets 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sundays at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land. It is discussing the book “Counter Culture” by David Platt,which talks about where Jesus and culture collide. Youth Bible study is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
Connection seeks volunteers
