Faith Presbyterian posts events
Faith Presbyterian Church, 7520 Charlotte Highway, Indian Land, will hold these events in March:
• A Lenten Bible study by Adam Hamilton on the Gospel of John is at 7 p.m. Tuesdays March 5-April 9 in the sanctuary.
• Youth in grades six through 12 meet 5-7 p.m. March 10 (second and fourth Sundays of the month) for fun activities, study programs and service projects.
• The women’s Bible study meets at 11 a.m. March 11 (second Monday of each month) at the church. It is studying the Psalms this year.

• Elementary-age kids are invited to “Super Sunday” 1:30-3 p.m. March 17 (third Sunday of each month) at the church office. The group is learning about God’s light this spring, and exploring ways that solar power can bring light to people all around the world. This club for kindergarten through fifth-graders explores Scripture through music, art, recreation and Bible study.

• The community is invited to hear Emory Austin and David Stith of Deja Vu present “The Sky Ain’t the Limit” at 2 p.m. March 23 in the sanctuary. This is a fun family program for all ages that aligns biblical insights with nursery rhymes and fairy tales.
• Faith holds Sunday school for kids and adults at 9 a.m. Sundays in the church office building. Worship is at 10 a.m.

Belair pantry open March 7
Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, opens its food pantry for Indian Land residents 9 a.m.-noon March 7 (first and third Thursday of each month). Food or cash donations may be dropped off at the church office 9 a.m.-noon weekdays.
Mad Matters meet March 7
The Mad Matters ministry of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets 1-3 p.m. March 7 (first and third Thursday of each month) in the fellowship hall to make waterproof mats for the homeless.
Temple Solel meets March 8
Temple Solel, a Reform Jewish congregation, holds Shabbat services at 7 p.m. March 8 (second and fourth Fridays of each month) in the community room at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road, Fort Mill. St. John’s UMC posts events
St. John’s United Methodist Church, 160 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, will hold the following events:
• Hearts with the names of St. John’s children, youth and college students have been hung in the communication center. On March 9, attendees will be able to take a heart and pray for that young person through Easter.
• On March 10, the church youth will be going skating at Kate’s Skate. For details, see the youth page on the church website.
• The annual Children’s Spring and Summer Consignment Sale is March 14-16.
• Easter lilies ($10 each) are being sold for the Easter service, and may be in memory or recognition of someone. Sign up in the communication hall, contact an MYF member or buy them in the church office. Those who buy lilies may pick them up after the Easter service.

• The Grief Support Group meets at 4:30 p.m. March 20 in the fellowship hall.
• R.E.A.L. Kids (kindergarten-fifth grade) meet 4-5:30 p.m. March 20 and 24. The group will hold its Friends and Fun Picnic at the Anne Springs Close Greenway on March 22. On March 24, the R.E.A.L. Kids will be preparing care packages for college students.
• The Kairos Prison Ministry Weekend is March 21-24. The church needs about 200-300 dozen cookies. Put a dozen cookies in a 1-quart plastic bag and freeze them. They cannot contain fruit, nuts, icing or sprinkles. Bring cookies to the church by March 17.
• March 29-31 is the Spring Mission Retreat. For details, contact youth director Mallory Capps at stjumc.youthandchildren@gmail.com.

• The Scholastic Book Fair is May 6-10, with evening hours on May. Books are available for all ages.
• Vacation Bible School is June 17-21. All are welcome to be part of an out-of-this-world mission at the “To Mars and Beyond” Vacation Bible School.

• The VIPs (seniors) are planning a four-day, three-night trip to Lancaster, Pa., on Oct 2-3. Highlights include seeing “Jesus” at the Sight & Sound Theatre, a tour of Amish country and the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C. All church members, family and friends are invited. M.R. Wilson Singers’ 26th anniversary

Sue Dotson Tea March 16
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 211 Marvin Road, Indian Land, will host the Sue Dotson Memorial Tea on March 16, with doors opening at 11:15 a.m. Tickets, $10 each, must be purchased in advance. FCA Banquet March 18
The 2019 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Lancaster County Banquet will be March 18 at Second Baptist Church, 1426 Great Falls Road, Lancaster. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. followed by a program at 6 p.m. Table sponsors are available, with individual tickets at $75. Former Carolina Panther Steve Smith will speak. Caregivers support group meets

Alzheimer’s group meets
The Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Support Group of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets at 7 p.m. March 21 (third Thursday each month) in the church library. The group offers support to those caring for loved ones with dementia.
Women’s conference March 23
The annual Fort Mill Stake Women’s Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is 6-9 p.m. March 23 at the Rock Hill building at 1883 Saluda Road, Rock Hill. Visitors are welcome.
Connection seeks volunteers

Byzantines meet Saturdays

What is a Byzantine Catholic? An explanation of the Eastern Church, part of the universal church in union with Rome, is April 6 (first Saturday of the month), along with a coffee social after the liturgy. There will be activities for children during the talk.

PHUMC student ministry meets Sundays
The PHYouth student ministry (sixth-12th grades) meets 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sundays at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land. It is discussing the book “Counter Culture” by David Platt,which talks about where Jesus and culture collide. Youth Bible study is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
