Faith to host food truck

Faith Presbyterian Church will sponsor a Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry on March 21. The truck will be in the parking lot of Faith’s new church at 7520 Charlotte Highway. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the food distribution at about 9 a.m. Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until it is gone. Recipients must meet USDA income eligibility guidelines and provide an acceptable form of ID. This distribution is open to all in need in our communities. Holy Week services

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 7095 Waxhaw Highway (S.C. 75), will hold the following Holy Week services:

- Palm Sunday: March 23, Mass at 4 and 5:30 p.m.; March 24, Mass at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. 

- Holy Thursday: March 29, adoration at the Altar of Repose at 8 p.m. 

- Good Friday: March 30, confession at 10:30 a.m., 1 and 4 p.m.; stations of the cross at noon stations of the cross, Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion at 3 p.m. 

- Holy Saturday: March 31, Great Easter Vigil at 8 p.m. 

- Easter Sunday: April 1, Mass at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. 

Crossroads Lutheran Church

Everyone is welcome at Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, and Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 416 W. North Main St., Waxhaw, N.C., for these Holy Week services and Easter celebrations:

Faith Presbyterian Church

- Easter sunrise service: 7 a.m. April 1, meet outside the church’s new worship center

- Easter service: 10 a.m. April 1, childcare provided

Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene 

Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, 109 Harris St., Fort Mill, will have a Good Friday service at noon March 30, with communion, singing and reflection on the true meaning of this day. 

On Easter Sunday, April 1, the church will hold a combined service at 10:30 a.m. New members will be received into the church at the service, which will feature a special musical program, led by the Rev. Brian Watts, and Senior Pastor Josh Fite will bring the message.

Van Wyck United Methodist Church

Van Wyck United Methodist Church, 5068 Old Hickory Road, Van Wyck, will celebrate Holy Week 2018 with a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 30 and an Easter Sunday service at 9 a.m. April 1. For details, call (803) 285-4577.

Byzantine Catholics gather

The Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Community will hold a Flowery Sunday celebration March 24 and a Resurrection of Christ celebration March 31, followed by the traditional blessing of Easter baskets.

Pre-Holy Week Celebration

Steele Hill AME Zion Church, 6021 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, will host a Pre-Holy Week Celebration at 5 p.m. March 24. The event will feature the Praise Cheerleader’s pep rally, a mini concert from the Lancaster District Youth and Young Adult Choir, praise dancing, drama and mime dancing. Easter EGGstravaganza

Faith Presbyterian Church, 7520 Charlotte Highway, will hold a free Easter EGGstravaganza 10 a.m.-2 p.m. March 24. There will be egg hunting by age groups from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by lunch, “spirit stations,” crafts, games and the opportunity to hear the Easter story. All are welcome. OLOG Spring Fest March 25

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 7095 Waxhaw Highway, will hold a free Spring Fest noon-3 p.m. March 25. The event includes an egg hunt, face painting, inflatables, puppy and bunny petting, lunch, snow cones and pictures with the Easter Bunny. For details, call (803) 283-4969.

Osceola UMC honors Griffin

Osceola United Methodist Church, 6575 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, will honor Foy Griffin and all she has done for the church 2-5 p.m. March 25 in the church fellowship hall.

VBS clinic March 26

The Moriah Baptist Association will hold a Vacation Bible School Clinic 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 26 at Covenant Baptist Church, 165 Craig Manor Road, Lancaster. The free clinic includes break-out sessions for directors, pastors, crafts, music, missions, decorating and all classes, including kids, youth and adults. “Reaching Your Community Through VBS” will be offered, along with suggestions for a pep rally and snacks. Church health program

The Moriah Baptist Association will hold a Next Step Church Health program 10 a.m.-noon March 27 at the Moriah Baptist Missions Center, 914 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, with lunch to follow. The free program will focus on developing strategies to help a leader and a church advance to a greater kingdom impact. It is open to pastors, lead and staff. Registration deadline is March 26. Women’s luncheon March 27

The Christian Women’s Connection will hold a “Spring Has Sprung” luncheon 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. March 27 at Pinz Grille at the Bowling Center, 1352 Reece Road, Lancaster. The event will feature a Christian Services fashion show, surprise music and Ginny Karelius speaking on “Wonderful Things I Learned the Hard Way.” Cost is $12 and reservations are required by March 23. Impact 2018 conference

Kingdom of God Church International, 1276 Old Landsford Road, Lancaster, will hold the Impact 2018 Annual Spring Conference at 7 p.m. March 29-30 and 6 p.m. March 31. 

Bishop Caswell Jackson of New Life Evangelistic Church of Charlotte and Pastor Donnie Birchfield of Friendship Baptist Church of Lancaster will speak.

PV Baptist Easter event

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 211 Marvin Road, Indian Land, will host an Easter Extravaganza 10 a.m.-noon March 31. The  free event will feature hot dogs, games, inflatables, face painting, door prizes and an egg hunt. A golden egg will be hidden with a special prize inside. Egg hunt categories are ages 0-5 years, 6-11 years, 12-18 years, 19-54 years and 55 years and older.

Belair food pantry open

The food pantry at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, is open 9 a.m.-noon  April 5. The pantry is for those who live in the Indian Land and Harrisburg schools attendance area. Anyone in need of food is welcome. Donations of food or money are also welcome at the church office from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays.

NAMI support groups meet

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Group meets 7-8:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month in Room 203 at Transformation Church, 8978 Charlotte Highway. For details, contact Sue Korn at (704) 575-5928 or suekorn08@gmail.com.

St. John’s disciple study 

St. John’s United Methodist Church, 130 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, is registeringparticipants for the Disciple 1 Bible Study. It is a 32-week, in-depth course. It may be split into two sessions – one in the spring and one in the fall. If you have never taken one of the disciple classes, consider signing up for this one. AA meets at Belair UMC

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the social hall at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road. The meetings are open discussion with speakers on third Wednesdays.    

Caregiver group meets at Belair

Hospice Care of S.C. will hold a caregiver support group 10-11 a.m. the third Wednesday of each month in the Belair United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land. For details, call Cory Turner at (803) 577-4912.
