Belair pantry open Feb. 7
Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, opens its food pantry for Indian Land residents 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 7 (first and third Thursday of each month). Donations of food or cash may be dropped off at the Belair church office 9 a.m.-noon weekdays.
Mad Matters meet Feb. 7
The Mad Matters ministry of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets 1-3 p.m. Feb. 7 (first and third Thursday of each month) in the fellowship hall to make waterproof mats for the homeless.
NAMI support groups meets

Temple Solel meets Feb. 8

Singles-Singles Again fellowship Feb. 9
The Moriah Baptist Association will host a Singles-Singles Again fellowship at 11 a.m. Feb. 9 at the Moriah Missions Center, 914 W. Meeting St., Lancaster. Barbecue will be provided. St. John’s UMC posts events
St. John’s United Methodist Church, 160 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, will hold these events:
• There will be a churchwide Celebration Luncheon after the 11 a.m. worship service Feb. 10. The church will celebrate its history and learn about future endeavors. A sign-up sheet is in the communication hallway.
• R.E.A.L Kids (kindergarten-fifth grade) will meet Feb. 10 and 24 and March 20 and 24.
• Scout Pack 130 and Troop 130 are collecting non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products and baby items, as well as new and gently used coats. All donations remain in area food banks, shelters and soup kitchens. Items may be left in the blue bin outside the fellowship center through Feb. 10.
• The United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) will go snow tubing Feb. 17. Family members are welcome.
• The United Methodist Women will sell chicken pot pies this month for missions. 
• The 2019 Men’s Ministry Conference is Feb. 16 at Mount Horeb United Methodist Church in Lexington. The cost to attend is $65. Contact Mark Fahner for information.

Seniors celebration Feb. 14
The Moriah Baptist Association will host a Senior Adult Winter Celebration at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 at Catawba Baptist Church, 1144 Riverside Road, Lancaster. The program will be led by Glen Ward, a Christian humorist and storyteller.
Tickets are $5, which includes a Chick-fil-A lunch. Each group is asked to bring one dessert for every seven to 10 people attending. Tickets available from the Moriah Missions Center through Feb. 11. For details, call (803) 283-8409.
Caregivers meet Feb. 20
Hospice Care of S.C. will hold a caregiver support group 10-11 a.m. Feb. 20 (third Wednesday of each month) in the Belair United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land. For details, call Cory Turner at (803) 577-4912.
Alzheimer’s group meets
The Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Support Group of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 (third Thursday each month) in the church library. The group offers support to those who are caring for loved ones with dementia.
Byzantines meet Saturday
The Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church’s Divine Liturgy is at 4 p.m. Saturdays at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 E. Munn Road, Fort Mill. The Byzantines meet in the parish center, between the church and the ministry building.
What is a Byzantine Catholic? An explanation of the Eastern Church, part of the universal church in union with Rome, is March 2 (first Saturday of the month), along with a coffee social after the liturgy. There will be activities for children 12 and under during the talk.

Faith Presbyterian Sunday schedule

Pleasant Hill UMC student ministry meets
The PHYouth student ministry (sixth-12th grades) meets 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sundays at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land. It is discussing the book “Counter Culture” by David Platt, which talks about where Jesus and culture collide. The ministry also offers youth Bible study 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
Addiction ministry meets
