Belair food pantry Feb. 15

The food pantry at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, is open 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 15 for those who live in the Indian Land and Harrisburg schools attendance area. Anyone in need of food is welcome. Donations of food or money are also welcome at the church office from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays.

Crossroads children’s ministry

Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land, along with Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, will hold a #KidzConnect ministry for children 9-11:30 a.m. Feb. 17. The event is for kindergartners through fifth-graders and will include work on a service project for White Oak, study time, fellowship and games. For details, visit www.Crossroads.Lutheran.Church.

St. John’s UMC posts events 

St. John’s United Methodist Church, 130 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, will hold these events:

- The middle school and high school youth at St. John’s will sell Easter lilies Feb. 18. 

- The annual Chili Cook Off is 5-7 p.m. Feb. 25 in the fellowship hall. There is no fee and no ticket needed. Donations will be accepted by each participant as votes for the grand chili champion. All of the money collected that evening will go toward the Beds=Dreams mission project. For details, email Bryan Meador at meadorbunch @comporium.net.

-  Family Ministries will be sponsoring a weekend retreat at Asbury Hills on March 2-4. Sign-ups in the hallway near the sanctuary. A minimum of 20 people need to sign up for this to be held.

-  Plans are being made to offer the Disciple 1 Bible Study in the new year. It is a 32-week, in-depth course. It may be split into two sessions – one in the spring and one in the fall. If you have never taken one of the disciple classes, consider signing up for this one. Sign-up sheets available in the lobby.

GriefShare starts Feb. 20

GriefShare, a grief recovery support group, will begin 10:30 a.m.-noon Feb. 20 at Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land. If you wish to attend, contact wendy.agcr.church@gmail.com so books  may be ordered. Cost of materials is $20.

Faith hosts Lenten study 

Faith Presbyterian Church, 7520 Charlotte Highway, Indian Land, will hold a Lenten Bible Study at 7 p.m. Tuesdays Feb. 20-March 20 in the church sanctuary. The study is on “The Path to the Cross” by Ray VanderLaan. Each study includes a video, in which VanderLaan shares a part of the landscape of Israel and how that relates to Scripture. Sharp speaks at Belair Feb. 22

The JOY Group will meet at noon Feb. 22 in the Family Life Center at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road. 

The guest speaker ia Dr. Frank Sharp, who has been practicing in Lancaster since 2000 and is on the staff at Springs Memorial Hospital. Sharp is board-certified by the American Board of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and is the medical director of Hospice Care of South Carolina. Come to learn more about how hospice care works and much more.

Caregiver support group meets

Hospice Care of S.C. will hold a caregiver support group 10-11 a.m. the third Wednesday of each month in the Belair United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land. For details, call Cory Turner at (803) 577-4912.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Connections (for adults with mental health conditions) and Family Support groups meet the first Monday and third Thursday of each month at First Presbyterian Church, 700 N. Main St., Lancaster. For details, visit www.namipiedmont.com.

OLOG posts coming events

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 7095 Waxhaw Highway, will hold the following upcoming events:

- OLOG Book Club meets 1-2 p.m. Mondays.

- The “Kingdom of Happiness” eight-week course is 1 p.m. Thursdays through March 15 and 5:30 p.m. Sundays through March 18. Study guide costs $25.

AA meets at Belair UMC

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the social hall at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road. The meetings are open discussion with speakers on third Wednesdays.

Church safety session Feb. 27 

The Moriah Baptist Association will hold a free church safety information update at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Moriah Mission Center, 914 W. Meeting St., Lancaster. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will brief attendees on safety issues for churches. For details or to register, call (803) 283-8409.

Reasonz 2 Smile Events will host the second No Greater Love Conference noon-4 p.m. Feb. 24 in USC Lancaster’s Stevens Auditorium, 476 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster. Admission is $5. Speakers include apostle Altheresa Good Howard, evangelist Betsy Thomas, minister Rosalind Elliot and Jackie Grove. Next JAARS Day March 10

The next JAARS Day is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 10 at 7405 JAARS Road, Waxhaw, N.C. The open house will feature missionary stories, rides in an airplane, helicopter, boat or four-wheel-drive vehicle, media demonstrations in various languages, children’s activities, ethnic clothes and musical instruments from other cultures and visits to the Museum of the Alphabet and the Mexico-Cardenas Museum.
