Registration opens for W.E.E. School
St. John’s United Methodist Church, 160 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, opened W.E.E. School registration for the 2019-20 school year Jan. 22 for currently enrolled students, their families and church members. Public registration opens at 10 a.m. Jan. 28 in the fellowship center. United Methodist Women’s Fellowship members from St. John’s United Methodist Church will attend REVOLUTION weekend Jan. 25-27 in Columbia for music, inspirational speakers, food and mission work. Byzantines meet Saturdays
The Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church’s Divine Liturgy is at 4 p.m. Saturdays at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 E. Munn Road, Fort Mill. The Byzantines meet in the parish center, between the church and the ministry building.
What is a Byzantine Catholic? An explanation of the Eastern Church, part of the universal church in union with Rome, is Feb. 2 (first Saturday of the month), along with a coffee social after the liturgy. There will be activities for children 12 and under during the talk.

Register for PHUMC Preschool Feb. 4-5
Pleasant Hill Preschool will hold registration for the 2019-20 school year beginning at 9:15 a.m. Feb. 4-5 in the fellowship hall of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway (S.C. 160). NAMI support groups meets
• The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Connections (for adults with mental health conditions) and Family Support groups meet at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 4 (first Monday and third Thursday of each month) at First Presbyterian Church, 700 N. Belair UMC food pantry open Feb. 7
Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, opens its food pantry for Indian Land residents 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 7 (first and third Thursday of each month). Donations of food or cash may be dropped off at the Belair church office 9 a.m.-noon weekdays.
PHUMC Mad Matters meet Feb. 7
The Mad Matters ministry of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets 1-3 p.m. Feb. 7 (first and third Thursday of each month) in the fellowship hall to make waterproof mats for the homeless.
AA meets Wednesdays
Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road. Meetings are open discussion, with speakers on third Wednesdays.
Senior Adult Winter Celebration Feb. 14
The Moriah Baptist Association will host a Senior Adult Winter Celebration at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 at Catawba Baptist Church, 1144 Riverside Road, Lancaster. The program will be led by Glen Ward, a Christian humorist and storyteller. Tickets are $5, which includes a Chick-fil-A lunch. Each group is asked to bring one dessert for every seven to 10 people attending. Tickets will be available from the Moriah Missions Center through Feb. 11. For details, call (803) 283-8409.
Alzheimer’s group meets Feb. 21
The Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Support Group of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 (third Thursday each month) in the church library. The group offers support to those who are caring for loved ones with dementia.
Storying the Bible training

Pleasant Hill UMC student ministry meets
The PHYouth student ministry (sixth-12th grades) meets 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sundays at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land. It is discussing the book “Counter Culture” by David Platt, which talks about where Jesus and culture collide. The ministry also offers youth Bible study 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
Addiction ministry meets
