IL girls post best finish ever in Providence Invitational

The Lady Warriors cross country team posted its best team finish at the Providence Invitational, placing third out of 16 teams.
Broughton won the girls race, with Lake Norman Charter placing second in the Aug. 24 invitational at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte.
Indian Land High School senior Hannah Sawyer led the Lady Warriors, finishing sixth overall at 21:07 minutes. Olivia Morales placed 24th with a time of 22:21. Rachel Graham, 23:00; Mattie-Baile Tripp, 23:02; Lauren Sizemore, 23:53; Caprielle Terry, 23:59; and Chloe Duernberger, 24:35, also competed for the team.
IL boys place 22nd
The IL boys team placed 22nd out of 25 teams at the invitational.
ILHS sophomore Maddox Yegge led the Warriors team, finishing with a time of 19:25. Jaxon Barringer, 19:38; Noah Kiger, 19:53; Liam Bayley, 21:51; and Jacob Sisler, 22:08, also competed for the team.
JV race results
IL Middle School seventh-grader Isabella Kiger led the Lady Warriors in the girls junior varsity race with a time of 26:32. Zoe Campbell, 26:39; Grace Yegge, 27:25; Blakely Hardin, 28:39; Julia Brown, 29:53; Maithili Bhoop, 32:18; Addison Crown, 36:48; Anna Connors, 37:26; Madelyn Little 37:28; and Molly Diaz, 39:02, also competed for the team.
IL sophomore David Pohlheber led the Warriors in the boys junior varsity race with a time of 20:49. Ethan Geiger, 20:50; Connor Stebbins, 21:45; Ben Carroll, 22:51; Alexander Krull, 23:27; Kohen Redmond, 24:53; Scott Hansen, 24:54; Logan Preddy 26:40; Michael Atkinson, 26:40; Drew Gersewski, 26:59; and Dillon Thrower, 32:45, also competed for the team.
