The Lady Warriors saw their postseason volleyball hopes halted in a 3-1 road loss to Chapman High School on Oct. 23.
The Lady Warriors dropped a 25-14 loss in the opening game, but rebounded for a 25-17 win.
CHS wrapped up the win, prevailing 25-21 and 25-16.
“I thought the girls gave a great effort, but it just wasn’t our day,” Indian Land High School first-year coach Mark Van Lieu said. “Chapman played well, they served us tough and we weren’t able to consistently take advantage of their errors.”
Kailey Raynor had seven kills and two blocks, Lauren Phillips had five kills, Olivia Falk had four kills and four blocks, Emily Alanis had 18 assists, two aces, and nine digs.
The Lady Warriors finished 13-11, going 6-2 in region play.
Van Lieu said the Lady Warriors’ future looks bright.
“We’re only graduating three seniors in Olivia Falk, Kailey Raynor and Emily Gerdes,” he said. “We will return six juniors and four sophomores who made significant contributions this season.”
ILHS, which went 12-6 against state teams, opened the playoffs with a 3-0 home win over Emerald High School of Greenwood.
The Lady Warriors’ lone region losses were to Camden High School, which won a pair of hard-fought matches.
