An Indian Land man has been arrested on child-pornography charges involving kids as young as 8.
Travis Kenton John, 40, is charged with one count of second-degree exploitation of a minor and eight counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. He faces up to 10 years on each count if convicted.
He was arrested following an investigation by the S.C. attorney general’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
According to arrest warrants, John uploaded and distributed an image of two underage girls, believed to be ages 10-14, engaging in sexual activity on the social-networking site Kik in December.
Last week, seven photos and one video containing sexually explicit images of girls as young as 8 were found on John’s iPhone, the warrants said.
He was arrested by sheriff’s investigators April 4 and was released on $35,000 bond the next day.
This was the second investigation by the ICAC task force in Lancaster County this year. Seven people were arrested in the county after ICAC investigations in 2018.
