Hurricane Florence cancellations and postponements

• The Moriah Baptist Association has canceled its Senior Adult Fall Festival scheduled for Thursday. It will be rescheduled later. It has also canceled its singles breakfast this Saturday. It will be rescheduled later.
• Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce has canceled Friday’s Morning Business Connections. The next event will be Oct. 12 at CrossRidge Café in Indian Land.
• The Archie Parnell for Congress Campaign Fish Fry scheduled for Thursday has been canceled and will be rescheduled later.
• The Lancaster County Council Administration Committee meeting Thursday has been changed to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Lancaster County Administration Building.
• The Community Playhouse of Lancaster County has canceled its “A Night of One Acts” performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They will be rescheduled at a later date.
• Lancaster County Parks and Recreation has canceled all evening indoor and outdoor activities through Sunday ahead of Hurricane Florence. All programs will be suspended Friday since school classes have been canceled for the day.
• All Lancaster County recycling sites will be closed Friday and Saturday.
• All Lancaster County Library branches will be closed Saturday.
• This weekend’s auditions for the Columbia City Ballet's “The Nutcracker” have been rescheduled, due to Hurricane Florence. They will now be 9:30-11 a.m. Sept. 28 at Indian Land Middle School, 8361 Charlotte Highway, Indian Land; and 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Sept. 29 at Dance U Studio, 1821 Sandal Brook Road, Indian Land. Auditions will also be held 4-6:15 p.m. Sept. 28 at USC Lancaster’s Bundy Auditorium, 476 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster.

The 2018 Marian Hagins Memorial Art Competition Reception and Awards presentation, originally set for Sunday, Sept. 16, has been moved to 3-5 p.m. Sept. 30.
• The Lancaster County Career Fair scheduled for Sept. 20 has been canceled and will be rescheduled later. Applications for current vacancies can still be made online at www.mylancastersc.org/jobs and paper applications are available at the human resources office at 101 N. Main St., Lancaster; or by emailing jkennington@lancastercountysc.net.
• The Community Engagement Corps is rescheduling Monday’s Community Conversation for Sept. 24. The location and time will remain the same.
• The Edgewater Fishing Creek Lake cleanup has been rescheduled from Sept. 15 to 9 a.m. Sept. 29.

Lancaster County government
• Sept. 13 – The administration building will operate as normal until 5 p.m. Convenience sites will be open noon-6 p.m. Recreation programs have been canceled for the evening.
• Sept. 14 – The administration building and libraries will close at noon. Recycling and convenience sites will be closed all day. Recreation programs have been canceled.
• Sept. 15 – Recreation programs have been canceled. Convenience sites and libraries will be closed all day.
