Get involved in the Best Week of Fall

-A A +A
By Chris McGinn

The Best Week of Fall event – Sept. 28-Oct. 6 – is looking for local residents, businesses and nonprofits to get involved.
The event begins Sept. 28 with the Carolinas Chili Championship and ends with the Indian Land Fall Festival Oct. 5-6.
Throughout the week, additional events are planned, including a golf tournament, car show, day at the park and more.
“The fall festival and chili championship are events to promote Indian Land and bring our community together,” said Mike Neese, event director. “While we rely on business partners and sponsors to support our events, we also look for unique ways to promote local business, so it is a true win-win.”
Sponsors
McClancy Seasoning Co. is the presenting level sponsor of the first Carolinas Chili Championship, but more businesses are invited to sponsor this world-class event.
Levels  range from Bell Pepper ($500) to Ghost Pepper ($10,000). All levels include event space for your team, passes and other benefits.
For more information about sponsoring the chili championship, visit www.carolinaschilichampionship.com/sponsor-levels.
The Indian Land Fall Festival is also seeking sponsors. Email indianlandfallfest@gmail.com to request more details.
Local nonprofits can also partner with the Carolinas Chili Championship or the Indian Land Fall Festival to help spread their message to the community. Nonprofit organizations are invited to host a booth, help with a day at the park, sponsor a hole in the golf tournament, cook a bowl of chili and more.
Vendors
Festival vendor spots are going fast, but a limited number of arts and crafts vendors are still available. A 10x10-foot space is $35 for both days. Pricing varies for other vendor types. Visit www.indianlandfallfest.com for more information or to register.
Volunteers
Local residents interested in helping their community are invited to help in a variety of ways. Event volunteers and chili-tasting judges are in high demand. There are volunteer opportunities for both events ranging from a single shift, day or year-round commitment.
“We will work to get you involved in a way that you find both meaningful and enjoyable,” said Jessica Threatt, director of the chili championship.
To volunteer, contact chilijessica21@gmail.com or indianlandfallfest@gmail.com.
