Fischer, Mackey wed in June

Karen Denise Fischer of Lancaster and Nathan Lee Mackey of Charlotte were united in marriage at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Sherwood Baptist Church in Lancaster.
The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Rusty McAlister. Music was provided by pianist Kathy Weiss and organist Bob Hickling.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Fischer and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland D. Gruber, all of Round O, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Fischer Sr. 
She graduated from Colleton Preparatory Academy and attended Winthrop University, Furman University and the University of South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Mackey of Heath Springs. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Cheek and the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald William Mackey. Standing in as representative grandparents were Richard Capin and Vera Carroll. The groom attended Oak Grove Academy and Central Piedmont Community College. He is employed by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
The bride wore a white, A-line tissue taffeta wedding gown designed by Jasmine. It featured a metallic embroidered sweetheart neckline, a ruched, criss-cross bodice and custom sheer, pleated straps. The fitted, drop-waist ballgown delicately formed into an apron-style chapel train, adorned with covered buttons and scalloped silver embroidery that ran down around the hemline. She wore a white, sheer, fingertip veil edged with matching jeweled metallic thread and beading. She carried a bouquet featuring pink zinnias, snapdragons, roses and calla lilies adorned with her paternal grandmother’s silver brooch.
The bride’s sister, Mary Ellen Fischer of Taylors served as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Victoria Fischer of Fredericksburg, Va., cousin of the bride; and friends Melody Joyce of Raleigh, N.C., Marie Pinkston of Clover and Rachel Helms of Seneca.
Andrew Mackey of Charlotte was best man. Groomsmen were Richard Fischer Jr. of North Augusta, brother of the bride; Mackie Hendrix of Heath Springs, cousin of the groom; and friends Logan Waggoner of Raleigh and Mitch Levengood of Philadelphia, Ohio.
Lucy Mackey, niece of the groom, served as flower girl and Charlie Helms, friend of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Ushers were Matthew Daly, Mike Mower, Reed Waggoner and Bill Mackey.
On the eve of the wedding, a delicious rehearsal buffet was provided by the groom’s parents at Cornerstone Bible Church.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held in the family life center of Sherwood Baptist Church.
The couple honeymooned in Asheville, N.C.
