Set those alarm clocks early Monday, Aug. 19. That’s the first day of school for all Lancaster County School District students, except for  sixth- and ninth-graders.
They’ll be heading to school Friday, Aug. 16, for orientation from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., where they’ll check out their new schools, meet classmates  and teachers and eat  lunch together.
This week will be busy with orientations at most county elementary schools on Thursday, Aug. 15, including Harrisburg, Indian Land and Van Wyck elementaries. Parents should refer to teacher assignment emails for details on this meeting with the teacher and other back-to-school info.
Returning elementary students’ teacher assignments were sent to the email address on file the second week of August.
Each school will hold its own orientation for parents of new EAGLE students in grades three-five during the new school year. For details, parents may contact their child’s school.
Indian Land Middle schoolers may print their schedules from PowerSchool using the Parent Portal login. Seventh- and eighth-grade orientation is 5:30-6:30 p.m. Aug. 14.
