Del Webb Library celebrates spring

-A A +A

from Del Webb Library at Indian Land
From egg hunts to story times, the Del Webb Library at Indian Land was hopping the week leading up to Easter.
Youth Services Librarian “Miss Maggie” Keeble kept the kids entertained while many were out on spring break by offering a dozen programs over the course of a week, each one with its own egg hunt and goodies for participants.
Soothing Story Times on Monday and Romp & Read Story Times on Wednesday were as busy as ever, but the biggest event was the Tuesday Easter program and egg hunts. More than 200 children attended the program and participated in the multiple Easter egg hunts held.
Even the Easter Bunny stopped by and surprised children with hugs and pictures while they waited for the next hunt to begin.
Every child at the events received a bag of goodies, and the Friends of the Del Webb Library bought enough books for everyone in attendance to have one.
The teens and tweens' Easter-themed program, set for last Friday, was canceled due to stormey weather. They will have an event just for them this Friday, April 26, where they will decorate eggs, enjoy snacks and games, and have a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt.
Children’s Book Week
Keeble is looking forward to the next big week of events at the Del Webb Library.

April 29-May 5 is Children’s Book Week, and all throughout the week there will be story times for children to enjoy, including a special evening story time event from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. At this event, there will be special snacks and crafts for children to enjoy, while Keeble reads some popular picture book stories. There will also be plenty of iconic picture book friends for children to hug and take their picture with.
Keeble will end the week by bringing stories and a craft to Literacy Night on Friday.
