Indian Land High School wrestler Clint Creech, who has wrestled some with the Warriors varsity team this season, won the 106-pound junior varsity state title at the Carolina Invitational at Lexington High School on Jan. 19.
Creech posted a technical fall – 17-2 – over ILHS teammate Drew Endres.
“I’m proud of both of them and having two wrestlers to compete in the state title round reflects the quality and depth of our wrestling program,” ILHS coach Leon Boulware said.
“I hate it came down to two of our wrestlers for one state title, but it shows how we work to help us get better and reach success.
“Both those wrestlers have bright futures and we are looking for more big things from them,” Boulware said.
Junior Warriors wrestler Jordan Crosen placed fourth in the 113-pound weight class.
IL’s Jordan Overstreet was a state qualifier at 113.
