Carolina Angels in Winter World Series

Indian Land's Carolina Angels 14U softball team played in the 2018 Top Gun-USA Winter World Series in Myrtle Beach on Nov. 3 and 4.


In the qualification games for seeding the Winter World Series, the Carolina Angels tied, 3-3, with the River City Rage from St. Albans, W.Va., in their first game. The Angels lost their second game to the Outsiders of Fairplay, 6-4.
That put the Angels in the Copper bracket for the playoffs.
In the first playoff, the Carolina Angels beat Palmetto X-treme from Marion, 6-0.
In the bracket’s seventh game, the Angels lost to the Georgia Blaze from Lavonia, Ga., 5-3.
In game nine, the Angels lost to the Southern Fury, also from Lavonia, 5-3, and were eliminated from the tournament.
