Free flu shots for veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs has once again teamed up with Walgreens to give free flu shots to all veterans who are enrolled in the VA health-care system.

To get the vaccinations anytime through March 31, 2018, vets simply need to present a Veterans Identification Card and a photo ID at any participating Walgreens Pharmacy. The Group ID is VAFLU.

In addition, after the Walgreens pharmacist administers the vaccine, Walgreens will transmit that information securely to the VA, where it will become part of the patient’s electronic medical record.
