Smooth start to new school year

More than 12,000 students – more than a third of them from Indian Land – began the new academic year at Lancaster County School District’s 22 schools on Thursday, Aug. 17.
It was smooth sailing most of the day, except for some traffic congestion around the district’s many on-going construction projects.
Indian Land’s four schools welcomed about 4,420 students Thursday.
