Children’s Home Flurry Oct. 6

The seventh annual Lancaster Children’s Home Fall Flurry is Oct. 6 at Rocky Creek Sporting Clays, 3390 Mountain Gap Road (S.C. 901 South), Richburg.

Cost is $125 per shooter on a four-person team or $150 per single shooter. Fee includes registration, 10 warm-up shells, meal and awards presentation. Highest-scoring overall team gets its $500 back. For details, contact Melanie Harper at (803) 286-5277 or lch@comporium.net.

ILHS v BHS alumni game Oct. 7

The Indian Land High School alumni football players will play a Buford High School alumni team in flag football at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7 at the BHS Jackets Stadium. Honorable mention for Dickerson

Indian Land High School football player Brandon Dickerson reaped honorable mention laurels for special teams player of the week during the Sept. 19 meeting of the Tri-County Football Coaches Association meeting at Towne Tavern in Fort Mill. 

Dickerson made two field goals of 28 and 30 yards and four punts for a 39-yard average in the Warriors’ 48-25 loss to the undefeated Chesterfield High School Rams.

Chamber golf tourney Oct. 12

The Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce will hold the Rub of the Green Golf Tournament on Oct. 12 at Carolina Lakes Golf Club at Sun City, 23012 Kingfisher Drive, Indian Land, with a shotgun start at noon. Register soon for youth hoops

Lancaster County Parks and Recreation youth basketball registration for boys ages 5-15 and girls ages 5-12 is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 17, 19, 24, 26 and Nov. 2 at the Indian Land Recreation Center at Walnut Creek, 10521 Walnut Creek Parkway, and 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 16-Nov. 3 at Springdale Recreation Center, 260 S. Plantation Road, Lancaster. 

Registration is $55 per player. If a player signs up with LCPR, then makes their school basketball team, the registration fee will be refunded. For details, visit www.mylancastersc.org/parks.
