EAGLE/GT program orientation Aug. 23
Orientation for new parents and students in Lancaster County School District’s EAGLE/Gifted and Talented program will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in Bundy Auditorium at the University of South Carolina Lancaster, 476 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster.
Open house for EAGLE students and parents will be 5-7 p.m. Sept. 10 at Discovery School, 302 W. Dunlap St., Lancaster, where the program is housed.

ILMS to hold open house Tuesday
Indian Land Middle School will hold open house from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.
ILMS Dine Out Night at Marco’s Aug. 29
Indian Land Middle School has partnered with Marco’s Pizza in Indian Land for the first Family Dine Out Night of the 2012-13 school year. A portion of all orders Aug. 29 will be donated to the ILMS PTA. Be sure to mention you are from ILMS when ordering.
Comporium presents State of Education breakfast
On Aug. 28, Comporium Communications/CN2 will present the second annual Lancaster County State of Education breakfast.
The buffet will open at 7:30 a.m., followed by the program at 8 a.m.
Local and state officials have been invited to present information on the current state of education in Lancaster County. The breakfast will be held at the Bradley Building at the University of South Carolina Lancaster, beginning at 8 a.m.
Invited guest speakers include Susan DeVenny, Early Childhood Education; David Blackmon: K-12-Lancaster County; and Sally Boyd: Back to Carolina.
Panel discussion participants are Dr. Gene Moore of Lancaster County School District, Dr. Greg Rutherford of York Technical College, and Dr. Ron Cox, Associate dean for academic and student affairs at USCL.
