St. John’s UMC posts events 

St. John’s United Methodist Church, 130 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, will hold these events:

- New Year’s Eve service is 10 a.m. Dec. 31, with no Sunday school.

- Plans are being made to offer the Disciple 1 Bible Study in the new year. It is a 32-week, in-depth course. It may be split into two sessions – one in the spring and one in the fall. If you have never taken one of the disciple classes, consider signing up for this one. Sign-up sheets will be available in the lobby soon.

- St. John’s Talent Show is looking for participants of many different kinds – storytellers, singers, musicians, magicians, comedians, animal trainers and more. Organizers are also looking for bakers. Sign up in the church hallway for the talent show or to contribute baked goods. A date for the show has not yet been set.

Belair food pantry Jan. 4

The food pantry at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, is open 9 a.m.-noon Jan. 4 for those who live in the Indian Land and Harrisburg schools attendance area. Anyone in need of food is welcome. Donations of food or money are also welcome at the church office from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays.

Moms Connect meeting Jan. 9

Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, will host Moms Connect meetings 9:15-10:15 a.m. Jan. 9 and 23. The first meeting will discuss handling stress and decluttering our lives. The second meeting will explore “The Blessing of Sleep and How to Get Some.” Childcare will not be provided but children under age 3 are welcome to come with their mother. AA meets at Belair UMC

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the social hall at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road. The meetings are open discussion, with speakers on the third Wednesday of the month.

NAMI support groups meet

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Group meets 7-8:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month in Room 203 at Transformation Church, 8978 Charlotte Highway. For details, contact Sue Korn at (704) 575-5928 or suekorn08@gmail.com.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) holds support group meetings each month. NAMI’s Connection is for adults with mental health conditions, and NAMI’s Family Support Group is for their loved ones.

NAMI’s Connections and Family Support groups meet the first Monday and third Thursday of each month at First Presbyterian Church, 700 N. Main St., Lancaster. For details, visit www.namipiedmont.com.

Temple Solel services

Temple Solel, a Reform Jewish congregation, holds its services at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road, Fort Mill, and holds Shabbat services at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of each month in the St. Phillip Neri community room. Catholics add 5th service

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 7095 Waxhaw Highway (S.C. 75) has added a fifth service. Worship services are now held at 4 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 7, 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. For more info the church, visit www.gracewepray.org.
