U.S. Army Korean War veteran

Indian Land – Paul Douglas Flynn, 78, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.
A native of Rutherford County, N.C., he was the son of the late Fred Douglas and Bulah Vess Flynn. He was married to the late Texie Frisbee Flynn. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Montford Cove Baptist Church in Montford, N.C.
Survivors include a son, Paul R. Flynn and his wife, Cindy, of Rock Hill; two daughters, Sandy Smith and her husband, Wayne, of York and Donna Price and her husband, Walter, of Fort Mill; six brothers, Troy Flynn, David Flynn and Harold Flynn, all of Marion, N.C., Grover Flynn of Rock Hill, Ray Flynn of Morganton, N.C., and Jesse Flynn of Montford Cove, N.C.; two sisters, Agnes White of Fort Mill and Linda Rowe of Marion; four grandchildren, Melanie Edwards, Stephanie McQueen, Daniel Smith and Barry Gillespie; and four great grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Nicholas Harris, Bryson and Halie Edwards.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Flynn.
Graveside services will be at noon Friday, Jan. 20, at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road, Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Grover and Angie Flynn, 1271 Barringer Road, Rock Hill.
