from Christ Life Evangelical Ministries
Seven members of Christ Life Evangelical Ministries and volunteers spent eight days, from June 2-9, working in Owsley County, Ky., the most impoverished county in the United States, according to the 2010 Census.
The group conducted nightly revival meetings, daily children’s outreach programs, distributed food to those in need and participated in a drug march and rally to reclaim Owsley County and get drugs out of the county.
“This mission trip would not have been such a success without the support of our (local) people and their donations to those in need,” said the Rev. Pamela M. Willhite with Christ Life Evangelical Ministries in Indian Land.
Besides Willhite, the group included Daniel Willhite, Jerry Willhite, Naomi Willhite, Ruthie Willhite and Saundra McKee, all of Indian Land, Ian Mitchell of Ballantyne and Manny Talingting of Myrtle Beach.
