 VW Town Council meets Dec. 4

CCA offers help with energy bills

The Lancaster County office of Carolina Community Actions Inc. is taking applications to help low-income families with home energy bills and other programs and services. Family households must be income-eligible and provide supporting documents to qualify. Apply 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday at 101 Wylie St., Lancaster. For details, call (803) 285-2034.

Senior rental help available

The Lieutenant Governor’s Office on Aging administers an emergency rental assistance program for seniors funded through the S.C. Finance and Development Authority.

The program provides short-term help to low-income seniors ages 60 and older. It provides money for rent, which is sent to the property owner or landlord.

Recover lost property from sheriff’s office

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office advertises found property on its website, www.lacoso.net. A list of the property, which has been recovered by deputies and placed into evidence for safekeeping, can be seen in the news section of the sheriff’s office website.

Rightful owners can contact the evidence and property unit at (803) 313-2102 to describe the item and claim ownership. The sheriff’s office is allowed by state law to dispose of the property after a 90-day period, after exhausting all reasonable efforts to find the legal owner.

DAV posts schedule for van to Columbia

The Disabled American Veterans van travels from Lancaster County to Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and to Rock Hill on Fridays for scheduled doctor appointments. For details, call (803) 283-2469.
