The family of an 81-year-old Indian Land man with Alzheimer's disease is asking for the public's help in finding him after he drove away from home Monday night.
Kathleen Pressley said her husband, Joe Lee Pressley, left their home at 9021 Shelley Mullis Road, driving his white 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck sometime about 11:30 p.m. Monday, June 18.
The couple has lived in their home near the state line for 43 years.
"He just said he had to go home," Pressley said. "And he got in his truck and went from our house toward (U.S.) 521."
According to Lancaster County Sheriff's Deputy Sam Funderburk, the truck's tag number is BHB 350.
Pressley said her husband was wearing tan pants and a blue dress shirt.
She said he has gray hair and a scar from an operation on his head that should be visible.
"He's bound to be out of gas somewhere if he didn't stop and get any," Pressley said. "And I don't think he would have.
"He didn't have his medicine this morning; he's had two heart attacks, so he's in bad shape," she said.
According to a sheriff's office incident report, Pressley has driven away from home once before and headed to North Carolina.
The report said other jurisdictions have been notified, but as of Tuesday morning, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office had received no word from them.

Anyone who may have seen Joe Pressley or his truck is encouraged to call the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office at (803) 283-3388 or (803) 547-5933.
