Indian Land Fire Protection District

A recent proposal to create an Indian Land Fire Protection District has met with some controversy. The idea is to abolish the special tax districts in Belair, Edenmoor and Sun City Carolina Lakes, which charges each homeowner in those neghborhoods a $90 annual fee for fire protection, and create an Indian Land Fire Protection District, which would charge each homeowner in the Indian Land Fire District an annual $75 fee. The proposal will go to a referendum Jan. 18. Do you support the creation of this fire tax district to generate revenue for the Indian Land Volunteer Fire Department? Why or why not?
