IL team wins Little League championship

The Figaro’s Pizza team was recently crowned as the 2012 Lancaster County Little League champions in the major league.
The team, coached by Dave Loughry, Mark Bolt, Kevin Phillips and Cody Staton, was undefeated during the regular season and won the county tournament in their age group (11-12) with a perfect record.
Team members included Domingo Moore, T.J. Macomson, Lawson Otte, Tyler Staton, Connor Deckard, Jake Locklear, Nolan Bolt, David Loughry II, Brett Melton, John Phillips and Cody Knight.
Four players – Bolt, Loughry, Staton and Otte – were named to the county’s Little League All-Star Team, joining Hunter Blackwell, Nicholas Bynum, Finnegan and James Mulvaney, T.J. Funderburk, Caleb Wallace, Vance Barwick and Wesley Barfield.
These all-stars are representing Indian Land as the Lancaster National Warriors. The team played its first round game in the Majors District 8 tournament Monday, June 25, at Runde Park in Tega Cay. The Warriors’ team manager is Dave Loughry and coaches are Mark Bolt, Mark Barfield and Todd Funderburk.
