You don't have to go far to find fall fun

Here's a look at upcoming fall events across Lancaster County and beyond. From haunted junk yards and trails to trunk or treats and fall festivals, there is plenty to choose from.
Friday
ILES fall festival
Indian Land Elementary School will hold its first fall festival from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. All are welcome to come in costume.
In honor of ILES coach Mike Kersey, who died Oct. 6, admission will be free.
Games, food and activities will range in price from 25 cents to $2. The money will stay in the classroom in which it is spent to support teachers and classroom needs.

Finally Friday/art crawl
See Lancaster’s Finally Friday series and the Lancaster County Council of the Arts annual fall crawl is 5 to 10 p.m. Friday. This will be a night of fun and festivities in downtown Lancaster, including arts in all forms: culinary, visual, performance, literary, fashion design, music and more. The event is free, but a $20 drawing ticket may be purchased to support the arts.

Corn maze, fall festival
The Anne Springs Close Greenway’s fall festival and corn maze are open from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Activities include horse and wagon rides, kids’ hay maze, kayaking and canoeing and pedal karts. Concessions will be sold.
The maze will be haunted from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $5.

Haunted forest
The Lancaster Rescue Squad, 1356 Great Falls Highway, is holding its annual haunted forest at 7 p.m. Friday through Monday. Cost is $8 per person. For details, call (803) 285-0590.
Haunted junk yard
Mahaffey’s Used Cars and Parts, 1475 N. Rocky River Road, is holding its fourth annual haunted junk yard from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday  and Monday. There will also be hot dogs, nachos, drinks and T-shirts. Cost is $5 and all proceeds benefit the March of Dimes. For details, call (803) 416-6729   or (803) 285-1057.
Haunted trail
The Lancaster Children’s Home annual haunted trail is 7 p.m. Friday through Monday at Lancaster Children’s Home, 1335 Children’s Ave. Cost is $8 per   
person. Groups of five or more
will receive $1 off per person. Refreshments will also be sold.
BMS Massacre
The Buford Middle School cheerleaders will hold a haunted house, the BMS Massacre, from 8 to 11 p.m. in the locker room at Buford Middle School, 1890 N. Rocky River Road. Admission is $5 and the entrance is the side door facing the traffic loop. For details, call (803) 285-8473.  
Saturday
Halloween/fall festivals
• First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Gay St., will hold a fall festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for ages preschool through elementary school. There will be a bounce house, hayrides, petting zoo, games, festival food, arts and crafts, face painting and more. The festival will take place in the grassy field adjacent to the church parking lot. Children can dress in comfortable play clothes – costumes aren’t necessary. For details, call (803) 804-2453.
•  St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, will hold a Halloween festival from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be a bake sale, trunk or treat, hot dogs, funnel cakes, boiled peanuts, popcorn, hayrides and a haunted trail. For details, call (803) 804-6684.
• Victory Worship Center, 400 Grace Ave., will hold a fall festival at 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be games, a pie baking contest, hayrides, a bluegrass gospel band, food and more. For details, call (803) 320-4126.
• Camp Creek United Methodist Church, 4721 Great Falls Highway, will hold a fall festival from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday. There will be a hot dog cookout, games, pumpkin paintings, bobbing for apples, bingo and more. For details, call (803) 285-4731.
• The youth of Reformation Lutheran Church, 508 N. French St., will hold a fall festival from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday. There will be food, games and a trunk or treat.
• Camp Creek Baptist Church, 998 Potter Road, will hold a fall festival from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be games, a cake walk, trunk or treat and a free hot dog supper. For details, call (803) 285-0645.
• New Horizon Community Church, 1906 Great Falls Highway, will hold trunk or treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. There will also be carnival games, a praise band, inflatables, hot dogs and hamburgers.
• Zion United Methodist Church, 1665 Zion Road, will hold a Halloween carnival from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be inflatables, popcorn, snow cones, candy, hay rides and trunk or treat. Food will also be sold, including hot dog, hamburger and barbecue sandwich plates. For details, call (803) 285-3864.

Sunday
Fall festival

Douglas Presbyterian Church, 2325 Sunday Place, will hold a fall festival at 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be trunk or treat, costume contests, hayrides, hot dog and hamburgers, games, cotton candy, popcorn, cakewalks, bingo and more.

Monday

Fort Mill Fall Festival
The town of Fort Mill will hold its annual fall festival from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 on Main Street. There will be plenty of treats for trick-or treaters and a kids Halloween costume contest.

Boo Fun Fest
The city of Lancaster will hold Boo Fun Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at Lancaster City Hall. There will be games, prizes, trunk or treat, popcorn, a haunted walking tour, candy and more. Pictures will be taken of children in costumes for $5.

Trunk or treat

Kershaw First Baptist Church, will hold a trunk or treat from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday on Cleveland Street. There will be inflatables, a Christian entertainer, classic car show, balloons, face painting, door prizes, food and more. There will also be a costume contest for children through fifth grade (no scary costumes, please). For details, call (803) 475-3721.
