A Van Wyck woman hurt in a motorcycle accident earlier this month has died from her injuries.
Jamisala Gray Tims, 42, of the 6400 block of Van Wyck Road, was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on S.C. 5 (Rock Hill Highway) about 4:45 p.m. June 16.
The S.C. Highway Patrol said Gray, riding west on her 1997 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle, hit an eastbound four-door Kia driven by Jason Graham of Rock Hill when he tried to turn left onto Steele Hill Road.
The impact threw Gray into the middle of the highway, with the burning motorcycle on top of her.
Passersby pulled her from beneath the burning bike and an off-duty firefighter treated her until emergency personnel arrived.
Gray, who suffered head injuries, broken bones and third-degree burns, was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center She was later transported to UNC Hospitals J.C. Burn Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.
According to an unconfirmed report from a family member, Gray died of her injuries on Friday, June 22.
Graham, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt in the accident.
As of Saturday, no charges had been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
