District sets school registration dates

Registration dates have been set for the 2012-13 school year.
No general school fees will be charged this year, although fees may be charged for activities such as band, driver education, clubs and yearbooks.
Here is the info on Indian Land school registration:
Indian Land Elementary
Students new to the district and kindergarten students will need to register from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1.
Returning students will have their teacher assignments mailed to their homes at the beginning of August.
Back-to-School Night Drop-In will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 for students in grades kindergarten through five. Parents and students can meet teachers and visit classrooms.
Indian Land Middle
Students new to the district or to Indian Land schools will need to register from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1.
Sixth-graders who attended Indian Land Elementary last year will pick up schedules from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 6.
Seventh-graders will pick up schedules from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 7.
Eighth-graders will pick up schedules from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 8.
Yearbooks will be sold for $35 during schedule pick-up.
Sixth-grade orientation and new family orientation will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 in the gym, followed by a walk-through open house.
Open house will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28.
Indian Land High
Seniors will register from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 7.
Juniors will register from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 7.
Sophomores will register from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 8.
Freshmen will register from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 8.
During registration, schedules will be issued, class photos will be taken and yearbooks will be sold.
All fees, including band and driver’s ed, and unpaid debts will be collected during registration.
Any student with a financial obligation to the school will not be sold a parking permit until debts are cleared.
• To purchase a parking permit, students must have completed the “Alive at 25” safe driving awareness program and will need a valid driver’s license and a signed contract.
• Freshmen orientation will be 8:15 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 17.
• New students will need their previous school’s information, birth certificate, S.C. immunization record, Social Security card, two proofs of residency (one which must be a copy of property tax information or lease agreement) and be accompanied by parent/legal guardian.
