A listing of crimes reported in the Indian Land area

From Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office reports:
◆ Several items were reported stolen from a Gilroy Drive home in Indian Land on May 8. A homeowner found her back door kicked open and noticed cash, jewelry and an iPod were missing from inside. Estimated value of the items is $3,649.
◆ Firefighters put out a smoldering fire inside an Indian Land home May 20.
Members of the Pleasant Valley and Fort Mill fire departments extinguished the fire, found inside the attic insulation of an Elmsbrook Lane home, at about 12:40 a.m.
The homeowner told deputies he had been shooting fireworks earlier in the night and one hit the side of his house. He said he was in bed when he smelled smoke and called 911. Estimated damage is $2,000.
