Library offers adult computer class

Keep Lancaster warm by donating coats
The Lancaster Rotary and Breakfast Rotary clubs are taking donations of gently used coats and new blankets now through Thursday, Feb. 9.
Drop-off points are Covenant Baptist Church, 165 Craig Manor Road; The Lancaster News, 701 N. White St.; and the Leroy Springs Fairway Room, 1840 Springs Club Drive (Lancaster Golf Club), all in Lancaster.
Items will be distributed through Christian Services, Jackie’s Place, Lancaster Outreach Project and Family Promise.
Relay team captain’s meeting Thursday
There will be a Relay for Life team captain’s meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at First ARP Church, 701 N. Main St., Lancaster.
CBCC area blood drives this month
The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will hold these public blood drives this month:

CBCC is hosting its fourth annual Pint for Pounds campaign to support Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. CBCC will donate six pounds of food for every blood donation through Feb. 29.

Look Good...Feel Better program Monday
Look Good...Feel Better, an American Cancer Society support program and workshop for women diagnosed with, or being treated for cancer, is 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Marion Sims Theater inside Springs Memorial Hospital, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster.

AARP offers free tax preparation help
The AARP Tax Aide program offers free tax return preparation and e-filing for the elderly and low- to moderate-income earners at these locations through April 17:

Register now for Del Webb Library at Indian Land’s Art Studio for third- through fifth-graders.
Participants will explore the artwork of Caldecott Award-winning artists Simms Taback and Chris Raschka and create their own works with the help of Sun City Art Club members.
Sessions will be 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 13 and March 20. The studio will wrap up with an art gallery reception at 4 p.m. March 27.

The Master Gardeners of York County will host its seventh annual Garden Symposium at the Baxter Hood Center at York Technical College, 452 S. Anderson Road, Rock Hill from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25.
“Growing a Garden: Basics and Beyond” will include presentations by garden experts, including Horticulture Magazine columnist Carol Reese and Rick Schoellhorn, director of New Products for Proven Winners, vendor booths and door prizes.

Brahms concert March 4 in Fort Mill
The York County Choral Society will present “Brahms: A German Requiem” at 4 p.m. March 4 at Unity Presbyterian Church, 303 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill. Carolina Lakes Golf Club and the Indian Land Rotary Club are collecting food, paper and toiletry donations for the Rock Hill Children’s Attention Home and the Lancaster Children’s Home.
Indian Land residents may drop off canned goods, paper products or toiletry items in the lobby of Carolina Lakes Golf Club, where there is a collection container.
Health department offers flu shots
The Lancaster County Health Department is offering flu shots. This year, DHEC is contracting with VAXCARE to provide the vaccines. The company can bill selected insurance companies, along with Medicare Part B. Cost is $25 for the flu shot or $30 for the flu mist. To make an appointment, call (803) 286-9948.
