Belair food pantry open Thursday
The food pantry at Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, will be open from from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 2, for families in the Indian Land schools area. If you are in need or know somebody in need of food, please come by. Donations to help replenish the supplies are always welcome.
Crossroads summer day camp this week
A summer day camp provided by Agape Kure Beach Ministries will be held at Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 30-Aug. 3. The camp is for children in first through sixth grades.

All Saints Lutheran holds VBS this week
All Saints Lutheran Church, 17030 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, will hold its “God’s Water Works” Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. July 30-Aug. 2 for ages 4 through fifth grade.
The evenings will begin with a light supper, followed by skits, lessons and crafts. The pastor will lead a class during VBS for adults who bring children.

Harrison UMC to host women’s conference
Harrison United Methodist Church-Pineville will host the “Be Refreshed” women’s conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. Women of all ages are invited to the free event. An optional workbook is available for $15, as well as lunch for $5 each. A love offering will be taken.
Leader will be Sandy Witherspoon, director of training at Grace Life International. During lunch, there will be a “Refresh Your Furnishings” session. At the end of the day, there will be a “Refresh Your Fluff” talk and a Born Again Bargain Bazaar.

Trinity to hold VBS next week

Transformation offers ‘Fit Club’ series
In Transformation Church’s exciting new series, “Fit Club,” Pastor Derwin Gray and several leading medical practitioners will be focusing on helping you radically transform your life from the inside out. As the title of this series suggests “It’s time to get in the best shape of your life: Mind • Body • Soul.”

Transformation offers new weekend times
Transformation Church will kick off its new weekend evening services with an outdoor baptism and tailgate party after the new 5 p.m. service Sunday, Aug. 5.
The new service times are 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at the church’s Indian Land location, 9030 Northfield Drive in the Perimeter 521 Commerce Park.
Sunday morning services will remain unchanged at 9 and 11 a.m. in Indian Land and 11 a.m. at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill.
Free piano concert at church Aug. 5
There will be a free piano concert during worship services at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Second Baptist Church, 1426 Great Falls Highway.
Dr. Daniel Suttles is an assistant professor at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and he has served as a minister of music in both North Carolina and Texas.
He has been the accompanying pianist for several Christian singing groups and serves as pianist/orchestra director at First Baptist Church, Indian Trail, N.C.
New pastor at Calvary Free Will
The Rev. Mitch Gulledge is now pastor of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, 354 E. Rebound Road. The church offers Sunday school at 10 a.m., worship at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday; and 7 p.m. each Wednesday.
Jammin’ for Jesus concert Aug. 11
A Jammin’ for Jesus Summerfest will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 11 at Andrew Jackson State Park.
Special guests include Matthew Slyman, a producer and Christian rap artist; Josh Hamby, a Christian hip-hop artist; John Rutledge, a Christian disc jockey; and stand-up comedian Jerry Cook. There will also be cornhole, volleyball, food and more.

Pineville UMC hosts St. James Chorus
Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pineville, will host the St. James Male Chorus at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 in the church sanctuary.
The chorus, which has been singing together for more than 50 years, is made up of many different churches and denominations. Under the leadership of director Joe Furr, the men share their love of the Lord and gift of music to spread the good news.

Crossroads offers prayer course
Crossroads Lutheran in Indian Land and Amazing Grace Lutheran in Waxhaw are sponsoring a training course on prayer, “An Adventure in Prayer.”
Dr. Bill Fleming, director of pastoral studies at New Life Theological Seminary in Charlotte, leads the study from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 22. The course focuses on meditation and prayer as life skills to enrich your spiritual life.

Christ Life offers youth crusade
Christ Life Evangelical Ministries will hold a “keeping it Real” youth and children’s crusade from 9:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 13-17 at Gateway Church of God, 8558 Shelley Mullis Road.

Higher Ground offers after-school program
Higher Ground Church Child Development Center, 8365 Possum Hollow Road, is now enrolling for its 2012-13 Christ-centered after-school program. Kindergarten through fifth-grade students are welcome.

All are invited to visit the new Community Prayer Garden and Stations of the Cross on the grounds of Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road. The garden is open from 8 a.m. to sunset daily. Booklets with reflections and prayers for the walk are available at the entrance to the prayer garden. The garden is on the right side of the church building, with parking in the church parking lot.
Grace Church moves to new home
Grace Church of the Carolinas, a non-denominational family of faith pastored by Dr. Randall Odom, has moved to 8160 Regent Parkway, near Regent Park, Fort Mill. Worship services are at 10:15 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday for Bible study and prayer.
