Church offers Body & Spirit classes
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church’s Body & Spirit classes will begin again this month. They will be held at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the church, 211 Marvin Road. There will be no class on July 4. Belair UMC changes service times
Effective July 1, Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, will hold Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., followed by a worship service at 10:30 a.m.
Upcoming events at Belair UMC include:
• Thursday, July 5: The food pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. If you are in need or know somebody in need of food, please come by. Donations to replenish the pantry are also welcome.
• July 16-20: Belair will hold Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. “Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep with God” is open to children from 3 years old to 12th-graders. • July 19: The food pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. If you are in need or know somebody in need of food, please come by. Donations to replenish the pantry are also welcome.


Service times change at Osceola UMC

Osceola United Methodist Church, 6575 Charlotte Highway, has changed its service times for the summer. It will hold worship at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday school at 10:15 a.m.

Pleasant Hill UMC VBS set for July 8-12
Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway (S.C. 160), will hold its Vacation Bible School on July 8-12.

Crossroads offers prayer training course
This summer, Crossroads Lutheran in Indian Land and Amazing Grace Lutheran in Waxhaw are sponsoring a training course on prayer, “An Adventure in Prayer.”
Dr. Bill Fleming, director of pastoral studies at New Life Theological Seminary in Charlotte, will lead the study from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays from July 11 to Aug. 22.
The course focuses on meditation and prayer as life skills to enrich your spiritual life. It is open to anyone who wants to develop a deeper and more joyful walk with God.
There will be a $10 registration fee per person for class materials.

Higher Ground VBS will be July 23-27

Higher Ground Church, 8365 Possum Hollow Road, will hold Vacation Bible School from 6:15 to 8:45 p.m. July 23-27.
“We are getting ready for a Vacation Bible School your children and their friends will never forget,” said Tammy Therrell, this year’s VBS director at Higher Ground.
“SonRise National Park” will be an exciting adventure for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade.

Crossroads offers summer day camp

A summer day camp provided by Agape Kure Beach Ministries will be held at Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 30-Aug. 3. The camp is for children in first through sixth grades.

Register now for All Saints’ VBS
All Saints Lutheran Church, 17030 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, will hold its “God’s Water Works” Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. July 30-Aug. 2 for ages 4 through fifth grade.
The evenings will begin with a light fellowship supper, followed by skits, lessons and crafts.
The pastor will lead a class during VBS for adults who bring children.

Harrison UMC to host women’s conference

Harrison United Methodist Church-Pineville will host the “Be Refreshed” women’s conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4. Women of all ages are invited to the free event. An optional workbook is available for $15, as well as lunch for $5 each. A love offering will be taken.
Leader will be Sandy Witherspoon, director of training at Grace Life International. During lunch, there will be a “Refresh Your Furnishings” session. At the end of the day, there will be a “Refresh Your Fluff” talk and a Born Again Bargain Bazaar.

Trinity to hold VBS in August

Ministry to offer half-day preschool

Christ Life Evangelical Ministries is starting a half-day preschool, Christ Life Young Disciples, for those who must be budget-minded, but want their child to get quality care in a loving, Christ-centered environment. Scholarships are available.

Higher Ground offers kids’ summer camp

Register now for Mom’s Morning Out

Faith Presbyterian Church is taking applications for its Mother’s Morning Out program, which will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays from September through May. Children should be either 2 or 3 years old on Sept. 1, 2012, to qualify. Cost is $40 per month. Crossroads Lutheran offers new service

Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, offers an alternative worship time at 7 p.m. Thursdays for those who work or miss Sunday services. Come hear “The Story” in a casual setting and share in a new, inspirational worship experience. All are welcome.

Need a place to meditate or pray?
All are invited to visit the new Community Prayer Garden and Stations of the Cross on the grounds of Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road. The garden is open from 8 a.m. to sunset daily. Booklets with reflections and prayers for the walk are available at the entrance to the prayer garden. The garden is on the right side of the church building, with parking in the church parking lot.

Grace Church moves to new home
Grace Church of the Carolinas, a non-denominational family of faith pastored by Dr. Randall Odom, has moved to 8160 Regent Parkway, near Regent Park, Fort Mill. Worship services are at 10:15 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday for Bible study and prayer.
