Pleasant Hill UMC announces events
Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway (S.C. 160), will hold the following events:
•  The church will hold a First Wednesday Relay for Life awareness dinner program at 6 p.m. today, March 2.
• There will be an Ash Wednesday pancake supper at 6 p.m. March 9. A service will follow at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.
•  Lenten mid-week services and lunches will be held at noon each Wednesday during Lent.
•  All students in fifth grade and above are invited to attend confirmation classes at 2:30 p.m. Sundays beginning March 13.

• The church is beginning a new session of the Companions in Christ Bible Study at 10 a.m. Tuesdays.
• The church holds its Beth Moore Women’s Bible Study, “Breaking Free,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. The study is a journey of the Scriptures from Isaiah, a book about the captivity of God’s children, the faithfulness of God and the road to freedom.
• Register now to be a part of the church’s Relay for Life team. The goal this year is $3,500 and the church will participate in two relays. The Lancaster County Relay will be May 6. The second will be a mini-relay from 5 to 11 p.m. May 14 at Indian Land Middle School. Cost is $10 per person. For details or to register, visit www.relayforlife.org/lancastersc.

Pineville UMC offers Lenten studies
Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pineville, will hold a seven-week Lenten studies class March 8-April 19. Classes will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in the church fellowship building. Lunch will be available for $4.  Call (704) 889-2022 to register by March 2. 
Belair UMC family night today
Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, will hold the following events:
• Family night will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today, March 2, with a covered-dish supper in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to come and bring a dish to be shared.
• The church’s food pantry  will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 3. It is open to anyone in need.
• On March 8, Shrove Tuesday, the church will host a pancake and sausage supper from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Scout hut. This is open to the public, so come and enjoy supper and fellowship.

Church to hold Ash Wednesday services
Our Lady of Grace Catholic Mission will hold three Ash Wednesday services March 9. Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., along with a short 11 a.m. service at the parish mission house, 7031 Waxhaw Highway (S.C. 75). Mass will also be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Indian Land Recreation Center, 8286 Charlotte Highway (U.S. 521). Ashes will be distributed at all services.
Temple Kol Ami  fundraiser March 12
Temple Kol Ami, a Jewish temple serving the York and Lancaster county areas, will present “Evening at the Shuk,” with hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, music and a silent auction, from 7 to 10 p.m. March 12 at the Levine Museum of the New South, 200 E. Seventh St., Charlotte.
Tickets for the temple fundraiser are $35 per person, which includes admission to the museum and parking. Contact James Fox at tka.vicepresident@gmail.com for tickets.
Taylor’s Grove Baptist plans revival
Taylor’s Grove Baptist Church, 2382 Charlotte Highway, will hold revival services at 7 p.m. March 13-16. There will be a singing service at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Donnie Tillman. For details, call (803) 285-7727 after 6 p.m.
Faith offers Lenten Bible study series
Faith Presbyterian Church (USA) will offer a special Lenten Bible series at the church office, 7520 Charlotte Highway, at 7 p.m. each Tuesday of Lent. The dates are March 15, March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12 and April 19. The study will use John Indermark’s “Genesis of Grace: A Lenten Book of Days” for this series. Everyone is invited to attend this special time of study and prayer.
Barbecue, pageant  at St. John’s UMC
The United Methodist Women of St. John’s United Methodist Church, 130 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, will hold a barbecue supper and woman-less beauty pageant March 18. The supper begins at 5:30 p.m., with the pageant at 6:30 p.m.

All church choir forming now
Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 636 Oak Ridge Church Road, will hold an all-church choir performance at 6:30 p.m. May 7. Practices will begin at 6 p.m. March 21. The choir is still receiving members. For details, call (803) 804-0532.
Pineville UMC hosts Hudson survivor

Dave Sanderson, survivor of Flight 1549, which crash-landed in the Hudson River, will speak at a spaghetti dinner March 25 at Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pine-ville. The dinner will begin at 6  p.m., followed by the speaker at 7 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the door.
Childcare will be provided for children 5 years old and under during the program.

AME Zion churches hold luminary drive
The Lancaster District of AME Zion Churches is holding a luminary drive fundraiser. Tickets may be purchased at any AME Zion Church and Lancaster Memorial Park. The lighting will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 9. The rain date is April 30. For details, call (803) 285-8614.
Tapestry Missions Tea will be April 16
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 211 Marvin Road, will hold its annual Tapestry Missions Tea at noon April 16. Tickets are $10. Call (803) 548-7208 to buy tickets.
Crossroads worship time changes
The Sunday morning worship time at Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, has changed from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.  
Pineville UMC offers Kindermusik

Pineville UMC offers women’s Bible study
Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pineville, invites area women to attend “Experiencing God,” a 13-week Bible study by Henry Blackaby that explores the will of God for our lives and how it’s revealed.
The study will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays through April 7 at Stacy Hall. It will also be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sundays through April 10, at CrossRoads Center, Room CC6.

Church offers yoga, exercise classes
Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pineville, offers yoga and adult exercise classes in the gym of the Crossroads Center. Classes run through June 30.
Yoga classes are Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m. (chair yoga) and 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. (floor yoga) through June 30. Exercise classes are 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round.

Pineville church offers ESL classes

Pineville UMC seeks handbell ringers
Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pineville, seeks youth and adults who are interested in playing or learning to play the handbells. No experience is necessary.
