Belair UMC plans February events
Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, will hold the following events this month:
• Thursday, Feb. 2, food pantry open from 9 a.m. to noon, for all in need of food
• Sunday, Feb. 5, Scout Sunday for all the Boy Scouts in Troop and Pack 275 at 10:15 a.m. church service.
A soup luncheon with different homemade soups, cornbread and desserts will be served in the fellowship hall immediately after church service. All are welcome and donations will be accepted.
• Feb. 9, the JOY group will meet in the fellowship hall at 11 a.m. The speaker will be from Agape Health and Wellness and lunch will be provided. Please contact the church if you plan to attend.
• Feb. 12, church service at 10:15 a.m., followed by Let’s Eat Out in the fellowship hall after the service.
• Feb. 16, food pantry open from 9 a.m. to noon, for all in need of food
• Feb. 21, the church will celebrate Shrove Tuesday with a a pancake supper at the Scout Hut at 6 p.m.

Transformation marks anniversary
Transformation Church will celebrate its second anniversary this weekend, Feb. 4-5, at all four of its weekend services: Saturday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.


Gateway Church of God holds revival
Gateway Church of God, 8558 Shelley Mullis Road, will hold revival services Feb. 8-12. Services will be at 6:30 p.m. daily and 11 a.m. Sunday. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Pamela Willhite. Call (803) 581-3063 for details.


Pleasant Hill UMC announces events
Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway (S.C. 160), offers the following upcoming events:
• The church’s youth will collect monetary donations for the annual Souper Bowl of Caring following both services Sunday, Feb. 5. Donations will be given to the Belair United Methodist Church food pantry.
• The church’s youth will meet at the Whitten’s home for a Super Bowl party at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5.
• The church’s children will go bowling Sunday, Feb. 5, at Striker’s in Rock Hill. The group will leave the church at 2 p.m. A parent must accompany their child. Cost is $7 per person.  
• The church will host a fundraising event meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6. Participants will discuss possible fundraising events to benefit the American Cancer Society. For details, call Stephanie Smith at (803) 391-0487.
• The church is offering a series of MAGI classes, designed to help you discover your spiritual gifts. You can attend one of these three classes:
– Thursday, Feb. 9, 16 and 23, 7 to 9 p.m. (you must attend all three)
– Monday, Feb. 13, 20 and 27, 10 a.m. to noon (you must attend all three)
– Saturday, Feb. 18, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• The church is seeking members for its 2012 Relay for Life team. Team members will raise money for the American Cancer Society and take part in the April 27 Relay for Life event. To join the team, contact Janice Poston, Kathryn Burch or Pastor Michael Ritter. The church’s goal is $3,000. Those who cannot join the team may still help by buying footprints, luminaries and purple ribbons in honor or memory of loved ones or as business sponsorships. • Three new Bible studies began last month: Pastor Michael Ritter’s Bible study is at 10 a.m. Tuesdays. Susan Binley’s women’s Bible study is at 6:30  p.m. Tuesdays. The Rev. Carl Settle’s study, “Experiencing God’s Grace and Word Through the Psalms,”  is 7 p.m. Thursdays.
• Sweatin’ with the Staff – Want to have fun exercising? Grab your towel and water bottle and join the church staff at 10 a.m. Monday and Friday in the fellowship hall for Richard Simmons’ “Sweatin’ to Oldies.” All ages are welcome.
• Cardio Fit Club – This exercise class includes both low and high aerobics, kick boxing and dance for all ages, shapes and sizes. There is also an abdominal class following the cardio fit class. Classes are held on various nights throughout the week. Call (803) 548-4922 for schedule.
• “Heavenly Dishes of Pleasant Hill” cookbooks are available for $15 each. The three-ring-binder cookbook contains 700 recipes. Call the church office at (803) 548-4922 to get one.


‘Body and Spirit’ classes offered

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 211 Marvin Road, offers “Body and Spirit” exercise classes from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
The classes include aerobics, kickboxing, circuit training, yoga and Pilates, followed by devotion and prayer. Classes will be held in the church fellowship hall and all ages are welcome. Bring a towel or mat for floor exercises.

Christian Women to meet Feb. 21

Harrison UMC plans consignment sale
Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Highway, Pineville, will hold its spring and summer kid’s consignment sale March 1-3.
The event offers gently used clothing for newborns through juniors/teens, maternity clothing, baby equipment, toys, furniture and more.
