Former floor machine worker

Indian Land – Carol Lane Thomas, 79, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at his home.
Born in 1932, in Charlotte, N.C., he was the son of the late Bronnie Thomas. His father died when he was 2 years old. He worked in the field of floor machines in Charlotte for 32 years until the business closed. He then worked for American Products in Pineville for 22 years. He also worked at Riverview Fish Camp on weekends. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Sharon and then Oak View Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, N.C.
Survivors include his daughter and caregiver for the past six years, Robin Thomas-Patterson and her husband, James Rodney Patterson, of Fort Mill, and a granddaughter, Natalie “Sweden” Patterson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lula Abernathy.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, conducted by Pastor Jimmy Greene, with burial in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, 3850 York St., Sharon.
